School and life

Life has been very good to me this last month or so. James and I spent a whopping 8 hours at the fair. We hung out with Jessi, Gweedo, Gabe, and Colleen, tried lots of fair food, and rummaged through all the crafy things. I also got my annual glass of honey lemonade. Katy, Stina, and I managed to spend some time together, too, which always makes my heart happy :)

Josh and I traveled back to his mom's a few weekends ago. She took us to the quilt shop in Le Claire to pick out fabric for the baby quilt. It was so sweet of her to do that :) Denver went with us on that trip, and did pretty well. We were able to spend some time with Jake's family, so that was also really good.

Last weekend, we went back to Ankeny for my baby shower. I had many, many friends join us to celebrate. Jessi, Colleen, and my mom went all out to decorate the house and feed everyone. My mom, Jessi, Josh's Mom, and Aunt Cathy put together a box of gifts that I can't open until after the baby comes. I thought that was an incredibly sweet gesture. Besides the party, I also got to do the Ren. Faire and farmers market. And Jessi and I had a date to see Labyrinth in theaters. We may go see Beetlejuice and Never Ending Story, too :)

School has been a challenge, but I feel like we are all settling into the routine finally. The positive praise has been extremely important with this group, which took me awhile to figure out. My students are wonderful kids. I have a feeling I will be very attached to this crew :)
