As anyone reading the sinner or rocksoc livejournal will know, I'm celebrating my birthday Dundee-style on Saturday! This is because there was much enthusiasm for trip to a Dundee rock club and the only date the committee could agree on was this Saturday. So I'd like as many of my friends as possible to try and come. We're getting the bus over and taxis back which need bokoing in advance so if you want bringing home e-mail rocksoc@st-andrews.ac.uk asap.
Bring ID, entry is £3 and we should have a rocking time!
For anyone not able/willing to go over to Dundee I'll have a St Andrews based celebration on Friday night involving pubs and booze, as is traditional.
To my shame while intending to buy a few tops, I managed to spend around £150 yesterday, mostly on myself. Here's a breakdown for me:
Garage - £15 on petrol (cos Kevin drives me around a lot)
HMV - £5 on 'some kind of monster' (but I had to cos I had a voucher and I didn't want anything that was just £5)
Primark - £5 on a top (the purpose of the shopping trip)
Fopp - £3 on a Motley Crue album ("it would have to be really, really shit to not be worth £3")
Lush - £23 ish on presents for Danielle and Chrissy
Matalan - £10 on a top (again, the purpose of the trip)
Asda - £23 on fantabulous jersey bedsheets (I had to, they're so comfy!)
- £9 on 24 tins of uber-cheap tennents (there were various justifications for this, mostly the fact that I'd buy that much at some point anyway so I'll save money in the long run, and I need beer for my birthday at the weekend!)
- £30 on general shopping (a lot, I know, but I had literlally NO food in the house, and this will last me a few weeks)
Plus about £5 spent on food, the toll for the bridge etc.
That makes £128, so lower than my initial guess but still pretty damned shocking for a Sunday. I know I should have waited til next weekend when I could justify it as birthday spending but I needed to get the presents from Lush and it just sort of snowballed from there.
So I say to myself that that counts as my brithday shopping, but I know if I get money for my birthday I won't be able to resist spending.
I've also drunk an obscene amount of alcohol last week. I'll try and curb my drinking until Thursday (despit the sessions I'll be going to every night this week) and I am not going to spend ANY MONEY AT ALL...ish. I've started this by making myself a packed lunch today with some of the food that I spent £30 yesterday.
I also need to do more maths, especially my project. There's just not enough time in the day.
