What People Want
I've noticed a trend among Christian peoples. When
posting a list of desired attributes in a mate, one
item frequently found on such lists is "Someone more
spiritual than me." This used to impress me, to some
extent. I thought, "Wow, they really want someone
who will be a positive spiritual influence on them."
Now that I realize what it really means is, "It's too
much work for me to be a more spiritual person, so I'm
hoping to marry someone who will make/inspire/
discipline me into a more spiritual person."
Somehow that's just not as impressive.
