The Return of the Dog
Well, after two days enjoying a peaceful recovery, I regret to inform those of you who care that the dog...despite her valiant efforts thus far...has developed a post spleen-ectomy blood clot in her front leg. She's back in the hospital to brave the scalpel and take more medicines. I'm not sure how she's going to come out of this one...there's a possibility the clot in her leg isn't the only one, but the surgeon says that at least she's getting blood in that leg, but one of her veins is still...out of service. And if it remains thus, she could be in a lot of trouble.
I've got to head home after school today to see if we can go to pick her up. What a trooper. We'll see if she makes it out of this mess okay.
Could you imagine, though? Getting major life-saving surgury and then, two days later, right when you think you've seen the scalpel for the last time, you develop another threatening problem and have to go back? How defeating that must be.
