T-minus not that many hours
The finale is tonight!!! :D
(Excited and nostalgic rambling ahead. Spoilers for 12x20 and earlier but NOT for the finale.)
I’ve got my batman shirt, plaid, and peanut M&Ms, so I guess I’m as ready for tonight as I’ll ever be! And because I was a little late to the SPN thing, tonight will mark the end of my first (full) season to watch live, which is a special experience indeed.
I thought to celebrate I wanted to reminisce about some of my favorites of season 12, but it was surprisingly hard to choose. I don’t know why I’m surprised though, because 1) it's SPN, so of course there's going to be much amazingness, and 2) I’m a very indecisive person. xD So I’m going to go with a list of just a few episodes that first came to mind and the various reasons why I love them.
The Episode that was Nice and Creepy: The Memory Remains
The scene in the house that Sam and Dean broke in was was wonderfully creepy - the lighting, the camera angles, descending into that basement, Dean checking out the upstairs, the waiting for something to jump out... And then that scene in the freezer, with the red, the chains, being trapped, the body being dragged off, the glimpses of Moloch's horns - I love creepy spn. <3
The Episode Whose Style I Loved and Made Me Think I Should Maybe Watch a Quentin Tarantino Movie: Stuck in the Middle (With You)
Um, like the ridiculously long title says, I’ve never watched any Quentin Tarantino, so I didn’t exactly get what this episode was paying homage to. But I love when spn/things in general experiment with storytelling conventions, and I loved all the back and forth in time narrative, and dramatic time stamps, plus the episode ran very tense for me. And I can’t remember anymore if the clock ticking was just in the promo, or in the episode itself, but that was awesome.
The Episode that Gave Me All the Feels: Twigs & Twine & Tasha Barnes
I'm not coming up with the words right now, but this episode was so amazing. Ahhh the twins. So many feels.
The Episode of Waffle Appreciation: Regarding Dean
I just remember how happy I felt the moment when Dean suggests going to a diner to eat waffles. Then he says, “Dumb question. Right. What psycho doesn’t love waffles?” And THEN we go to the diner and get an EXCELLENT SHOT OF BEAUTIFUL WAFFLES. There was so much waffle love, and I am so here for it. I just love waffles so much. xD
I'd better stop there, because I should exit the internet as the finale will be airing/is airing for some, and I need to preserve my ears.
