Why I feel the way I feel about the new one dollar coin

While paper money wasn't printed with "In God We Trust" until the one dollar bill on February 12, 1964, coins have carried this testament to faith in our Lord and Savior since April 22, 1864. The first of many appeals came from Rev. M. R. Watkinson, Minister of the Gospel from Ridleyville, Pennsylvania. He writes:

I absolutely respect your right to worship as you choose. I would hope that the rights of those who practice religions other than Christianity to worship as they choose (and this includes me) would be respected in return. :-/ However, this is a secular nation. You are welcome to your opinion on the mint's policies ... it is still a free country so far as I can tell. I disagree with your position that we must all "turn to God before it's too late." Many people are happy with their (non-Christian) faith and just wish to be left alone to practice it. :-/
