40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
” Slow down, you crazy child
you're so ambitious for a juvenile
But then if you're so smart, tell me
Why are you still so afraid?
Where's the fire, what's the hurry about?
You'd better cool it off before you burn it out
You've got so much to do and
Only so many hours in a day
But you know that when the truth is told..
That you can get what you want or you get old
You're gonna kick off before you even
Get halfway through
When will you realize, Vienna waits for you?
Slow down, you're doing fine
You can't be everything you want to be
Before your time
Although it's so romantic on the borderline tonight
Too bad but it's the life you lead
you're so ahead of yourself that you forgot what you need
Though you can see when you're wrong, you know
You can't always see when you're right. you're right
You've got your passion, you've got your pride
but don't you know that only fools are satisfied?
Dream on, but don't imagine they'll all come true
When will you realize, Vienna waits for you?
Slow down, you crazy child
and take the phone off the hook and disappear for awhile
it's all right, you can afford to lose a day or two
When will you realize,..Vienna waits for you?
And you know that when the truth is told
that you can get what you want or you can just get old
You're gonna kick off before you even get half through
Why don't you realize,. Vienna waits for you
When will you realize, Vienna waits for you?”
Vienna, Billy Joel
Happy New Year to my entire Flist!
It is 2007. The year I graduate high school. The year I go to college. The year I will turn 18 (though not until the very end; I will be 17 for almost all of 2007. Hurrah!)
I had a party at my house. It was quite fun...we had lots of food, watched Accepted and exploded Party Poppers, with gunpowder and confetti, all over the place. Tim kissed me at midnight, though not with ceremony, like last year. This was not as good a New Year's as last year; Tim was sick (he has been all vacation, and he's been alternately incredibly crabby or in a fabulous mood...and I am always exactly vice versa the way he is feeling...it has been delightful) and I have my period and having a party at your house is always tiring. But overall, I had a good time....I saw Richard, who I NEVER ever see, and Ashley and Robbie were adorable all evening. And everyone else was fun, too!
It is now 2:31 AM, January 1st 2007, and I am glad. It has been a great year. Full of love and challenges and conquests of said challenges, and lots of fun and growing up. I mean, a lot has happened this year! From little things, like wearing sweatpants to school, to the BIG things, like driving and sex. All that good stuff.
I think I am going to make resolutions this year....and they are....
1. Eat healthier and just all around better...no more skipping meals or just eating junk.
2. Work hard at school, and don't skimp on things.
3. Take better care of Tim, and be there for him whenever he needs me...even if he won't admit he does.
4. Don't work up my hopes too high over anything. Be open to alternate possibilities.
Those seem good.
OK.
Goodnight, everybody. Happy 2007....may it be a glorious year for ALL.
