Nursing interpretation

I've spent the last few days interpreting ignoring doctor's orders. If the orders had some connection with getting people better, I would have gladly followed them. However, if the goal is to heal a wound, asking me to apply stuff that does the opposite isn't something I will do. Sometime this week I will send each of them a fax indicating this, good thing my handwriting is almost MD level. As they usually ignore any communications I send, it's reasonable to conclude that they won't notice that I'm ignoring their orders. As long as the poor dears at our mercy get better. I do explain to them the options, ie wrong thing requested by doctor vs current best practice based on research.

I'm more than a little peeved. One of my long term patients was in respite in a town, too far for me to drive to, while his wife had a must needed rest from caring for him 24/7. Almost every day there were umpteen emails begging for an RN to see him, offering extra pay ++. Meanwhile, I've cared for him over the last year at the regular rate of pay.
