Fishing for a dock
Had to share, dear brother is working on new deck. Just came in to tell me he's going with friend to find a missing dock. Seems it's floated away due to high waters in the river.
Went with sister to nephew's teacher interviews. He's struggling in new school. I can't afford to keep him in private school despite partial scholarship. He's bummed. Also, not all new school teachers are supporting him re his learning disability - due to primary school IEP being totally useless. Seems school system administrators can't read - Hospital for Sick Children listed use of a laptop/keyboard as a key accommodation - under equipment/technology part of IEP - this is not mentioned. Box is empty. WTF
Nephew will need new neuropsych testing and a new IEP. More struggles. He's 'twice exceptional', gifted with a disability. Doesn't help that it's an invisible disability. This is aggravated by him being a polite, sociable, literate young man. I can't believe supposedly intelligent teachers are so blind to his needs despite being advised verbally and in writing.
I'm having some bad days with depression and pain. MRI was done last week. Depression is aggravated by serious financial issues. Still paying last year's tuition for Stevie Ray, plus vet bills for Sophie, and house repair costs. All this on half pay. Only reason I'm not bankrupt is tenant.
