Feeling a bit better every day. Still sore and tired.

Went to my Cusine de Paris class on making Chocolate Eclairs and Chouguettes. Marvelous class. The amazing trick of the piping bag is now something I feel confident about. Making choux pastry ditto. If you are ever in Paris, do sign up for a class with these people. Skilled teachers, great chefs. My class was small, only 6 people. I understand that the classes can have up to 12 people, so we were very lucky. Tons of hands on teaching. The demonstration part was well planned, and each person's needs dealt with completely. I have some pics and video footage, but will need to sort out a more detailed post and maybe put together a video. We will see.
Here I am getting hands-on guidance in how to pipe pastry. Amazingly easy, once you've been shown how.

Here I am making eclairs.

The end result.

We were given two boxes to bring home our goodies. I shared the bulk of mine with the men who manage the hotel. I have a few for myself, but I really can't wait to get home and start making them for friends and family.

On my way back to the Metro, I noticed that the big store, BHV, was having a SOLDE. That's a war cry for any retail soldier to stand to attention, then proceed to enter the lists. My haul, two cashmere jumpers and two bra/knicker sets. Amazing prices, I spent under $200 Cdn. Not enough to make the VAT minimum for rebate. Black cashmere jumper being used as backdrop.
