so I'm reading through the stuff I got with my acceptance letter to SPU and there's this one bit that made me laugh: "Russian society is very homogeneous, and Russians often stare at people who look different. Students that are members of ethnic minorities, students with disabilities, or overweight students may face particular difficulties."
There's also a bit in the handout that the tufts studybroad people gave out: "Rape happens in foreign countries too. Not everybody is your friend."
*edit*
"Alcohol Release and Waiver Form: St. Petersburg, Russia.
Regardless of local customs in Russia, I understand that the policy of the Council on International Educational Exchange that the excessive use of alcohol is unacceptable. I underderstand that the excessive use of alcohol is unacceptable. I understand that excessive alcohol use may have a negative impact on my physical and mental well being and academic performance."
