I don't mind conservatives...they have some decent ideas. But Bush is, simply, a moron. I said this before, I think, that if there was an election between McCain and Kerry, for instance, it would be tough to figure out who to vote for. McCain is a decent, bipartisan politician. It's just sad that he didn't have enough money to run against Bush in the primaries.
I believe in a conservative economy---keep the regulations out and things work. Keep government small (which, btw, I dont think is conservative anymore. Under Reagan, for instance, the government and budget in California doubled, and under Bush, the deficit?) Tax cuts are good, but you can only cut taxes so much. If every president touted a tax cut, when will taxes now become 0? I think there should be a flat income tax---no deductions, no claiming, no shit like that.
I don't believe in socialized medicine---It just doesnt work and is not efficient. Im not saying what we have now is ideal, but we have the best medicine in the world. I wonder why.
I believe in protecting the environment. Granted, we need oil and jobs, but we cant be stupid about it. We cant back out of Kyoto--the climate is at stake.
We need more funding for social programs, NOT RELIGIOUS PROGRAMS. Give money to the arts, education, libraries, etc. Not to guns, missiles, and Bush's favorite church.
Welfare needs to be regulated and changed. There are too many people taking advantage of the system.
Abortion? We cant outlaw it. Ban partial birth unless there is massive risk to the mother or if the baby will be born deformed, etc. stress adoption as a strong alternative.
stem cell research? you are stupid if you think this can be bad.
foreign policy? Try this on: stop pissing people off.
