Proof of Piracy

Oh the things you learn when you research.
Like that antiquity confirms the piraticalness of the Penguin. Observe.

According to Commonplace Books, a text on the history of books and manuscripts:
The Latin Verb legere, which "was commonly used in the ancient world to denote the act of reading" also means, among other things, "to plunder and purloin," to commit a type of rape, and to "violently confiscate of the fruit of another man's tree."

Pirates plunder and purloin, rape, and violently confiscate.

Pirates "legere".

The Penguin commits "the act of reading" all the time. Especially Cheryl and I as English majors. We MAJOR in "the act of reading."

The Penguin, especially its Captain and first mate, "legere".

Pirates and the Penguin both "legere".

Ergo: We of the Penguin are pirates.

Until later me 'earties.
