Interesting rant... or maybe not

I know I take myself too seriously about things but perhaps I should rant for a bit. It's been a long time. This rant is basically a culmination of discussions I've had with Beth on the matter and an adaptation of some of the things she and I said, applied to college life and education in the US in general. The problem is that those "functioning cogs in the American machine." Yes, I understand that one has the choice to decide whether or not to follow his own ideas or to accept convention and I'm not really critisizing either choice- I'm really attempting to say that Mr. 4.0 1600 Yale should be at a technical school that does lots of work in accounting and not in other things. I'm sure he'd be happier doing that than going and doing all these other liberal arts classes that he's forced to take and sleep through. It's double edged. I think the kids who aren't interested in a class are annoyed by the kids who are interested in the class- and vice versa. Maybe separate classes could solve that. Just speculation.

A side note on my comments on "professional note takers." I meant to make them sound like people who reiterate facts and don't apply them. That would be like learning a lot about child psychology and just believing everything you hear and not debating. I know for a fact that you question everything you hear and that's your best quality. I'm taking about those kids that would listen and read Foucault and think he's a god.

Overall though, I think you highlight the message of what I'm trying to say- we should probably just leave and let the place be what it's gunna be. If people in power want to control social/civil/civic rights more than the forefathers wanted them to, then they are violating the Constitution and what it stands for. Therefore, since the system itself creates the imperfection of our society, there is no way to fix it. That sign you're holding up on College Ave means absolutely nothing. Do something about your surroundings. Leave the country.
