I know I take myself too seriously about things but perhaps I should rant for a bit. It's been a long time. This rant is basically a culmination of discussions I've had with Beth on the matter and an adaptation of some of the things she and I said, applied to college life and education in the US in general. A side note on my comments on "professional note takers." I meant to make them sound like people who reiterate facts and don't apply them. That would be like learning a lot about child psychology and just believing everything you hear and not debating. I know for a fact that you question everything you hear and that's your best quality. I'm taking about those kids that would listen and read Foucault and think he's a god.
Overall though, I think you highlight the message of what I'm trying to say- we should probably just leave and let the place be what it's gunna be. If people in power want to control social/civil/civic rights more than the forefathers wanted them to, then they are violating the Constitution and what it stands for. Therefore, since the system itself creates the imperfection of our society, there is no way to fix it. That sign you're holding up on College Ave means absolutely nothing. Do something about your surroundings. Leave the country.
