As many of you know, my van has been having trouble for quite a while now. Last time I mentioned it, it refused to start when I was coming home from Utica, leading to the conclusion it had to be replaced before I go out of town again. Since then, the transmission had started making ugly noises, and Friday it started kicking on the way to work -- around 45 mph the engine didn't quite shift, and I was more or less stuck in that gear. As this was just after leaving home, I went back and got a ride from my mom (and let me tell you how adult that makes you feel), and decided to replace it this weekend.

Which I did.

Alas, I couldn't afford a new van, and decided it wasn't worth trading better mileage, a better warranty, and safety features just for the sake of familiarity, so the new car (which I pick up Monday) will be a Focus. Doesn't seat as many people (we'll sometimes have to take two cars for what used to fit in my van), but with the back seat folded down it will still carry as much stuff as I need for anything other than moving.

Pictures are behind the lj-cut.
