Imagined conversation
A conversation I would love to have:
Me: [turns on anime music with lyrics in the car]
Passenger: Say, is that Japanese?
Me: What, this music? That's Nihongo.
Passenger: Nihongo? What's that?
Me: Oh, it's the language of the Nihonjin - a tribe of Pacific islanders.
Passenger: Oh. Say, this sounds kind of like jazz.
Me: Well, yeah. They were exposed to a lot of cultural influences from American servicemen, you know, because of World War II. And jazz was in then, so they picked it up.
Passenger: Cool.
