Me too! It's one of my top 2 favorites! Have you read any of Welsh's other works? Glue is equally good. Everything is else is amazing as well, but I've found Trainspotting and Glue to be the best. I'm super psyched for Skag Boys, which is supposed to come out next year.
I can understand Scottish dialogue well too due to that book haha. The first time I saw the movie, I had no idea what was going on because I could barely understand them. Now it's easy as pie!
There's a Scottish woman who comes to where I work regularly and her husband's an author. I spoke to her once about Welsh and apparently she's met him - isn't that wild?! She said that he's a strange guy lol.
I love Glue! Read it in two days' time XDD. I also enjoyed Porno.

Heee :D I saw the movie before I read the book and had a bit of trouble but could basically understand but when I bought the book I skimmed through it before I started reading and honestly thought "Shite". XD. Luckily for me, at the time a Scottish friend of my mum's was living here so she helped me out with the first few chapters and I began taking notes, writing down slang and everything and now like you said, it is as easy as pie! I was even able to write a Scottish character, complete with dialect when I was taking part in NaNoWriMo :D
