So, my paid account has now expired. I think it happened Sunday. This means that I can finally make the move I've been wanting to make, away from
LiveJournal's horrendous bandwidth mess and to something that I have control over:
Movable Type, on
Liquid Magnesium Networks.
Well, you may ask, what does this mean for me?
It means that you'll have to do something special to see my entries on your Friends page, for one thing. There is in fact some cross-interfacing: If you pay for your account you can
publish an RSS feed of your journal, and for free you can still
subscribe to others' RSS feeds. If that means nothing to you, you'll just have to manually visit my new diary, or read the instructions carefully, and also take a look at the instructions I've written at
the PARC website.
It will soon be available at
The Idea Salon, and eventually it will replace my main page on
LMN (for which Mirror 1,
my PUBWEB account at Northwestern, appears quite well suited anyway).
To those of you who've known me a long time, you may realize that this will mean that I have taken off the mask once and for all. I feel like it's time to show myself for who I am.
Thanks for your long and faithful readership here at LiveJournal, and I hope you can make the transition to The Idea Salon.
