In which I talk more than I show things. Also, I apologize for not showering and dressing before filming, but it's a work day and if I do it this way I can get ready for work while the video is saving and processing. I show a mostly finished Project Linus Granny Square Afghan as well as some awesome stuff I got in the mail yesterday. Love the still ( Read more... )

Heh, I love the bathrobe edition!

E travels today and he had to upgrade his seat because they stuck him in the middle seat. Can you even imagine? Fortunately, the company will pick up the extra cost.

The granny ghan looks fantastic! BIG and wonderful for a bigger kid!

Phebe will do great on the SAT, I have no doubt of her excellent brain power. Make sure she reads all the crazy instructions before going to the test, there are a lot. (Have been through this multiple times now!)

Really nice package of goodies from clumsy_chord! I think you'll enjoy the rag quilting. It's very instant gratification compared to traditional quilting.

Heh, I decided my choice was not upload until tonight or record BEFORE showering and getting ready for work. I chose cozy fleece robe edition. It's chilly!

I really like the much bigger granny ghans. They just hang better and we gt plenty of smaller blankets anyway.

She says prep is going well. I bought her the prep book/dvd set from Amazon with extra practice test and stuff. Deadline is approaching for her application to UT (Dec 1) so that's going to be her first to complete. The other two she's looking at don't have deadlines until Feb/Mar.

I am glad to hear prep is going well. When I said to read the rules, I didn't mean so much the studying part since it's sounds like she's totally on that, I mean the rules about what you can bring and cell phones and such. One of my kids (can't remember which) saw someone get kicked out because they pulled their cell out of their pocket. They didn't even turn it on, but they are super strict about "the rules" and I know I would not be pleased if I had to pay for the test again because of something that easy to avoid.

Oh yeah. She already took the ACT and they had a lot of the same rules about phones and types of calculators, ipods, etc. I'll remind her though.

Did I mention G is probably going to apply to UT and the Cockrell School of Engineering? He still wants to go to Germany, but that's a super hard program to get into, so UT is his "backup" which is kind of ridiculous since it's the majority of Central Texas kids' first choice. He's already told me that if he goes there he plans to live at home and ride the bus downtown. O.o

By the way, this is entirely because of his Engineering teacher at h.s. UT wasn't even on his list before. I think it was too local for him and then he found out he could get a Master's pretty much anywhere if he got his undergraduate degree from there...

Too bad you don't have another bedroom or a guest house out back, we could pay our room and board to you and you could use it to pay toward Elena's. And when their shedules allowed G and P could carpool in the little blue car. ;)
