TTMT the 90th (!!!) with dozmuffinxc

I apparently need a new video editing program, because Windows Movie Maker is refusing to recognize the videos I make on my Flip camera. Instead of putting the picture of the beanie at the end of the vid, I've had to include it under the cut.

The bag turned out cute, and I think the hat is cute! It just looks ribbed. They always soften up when they are washed anyway. It reminds me of a faux cable rib.

I see cotton yarn everywhere... and better than that I have a bin full of it, if you want some, definitely quite a bit of earth tones/neutrals. I was just trying to decide what to make with it the other day because it's practically all I have left in my stash and I never use it anymore. I can't imagine making a hat out of dishcloth cotton, though, but Bernat Cottontots (created for children's clothing/hats) is actually really soft. I prefer a 50/50 cotton/acrylic blend myself, like Lion Brand Cottonease. I can usually find at least some Bernat Cottontots at Joann's or Michaels or even Hancock fabrics, though Hancock's here carries more Lion Brand than anything else. Most stores carry Lily Sugar and Cream and quite a few carry Lion's which is just called "Lion Cotton". For fun you could cut a 100% cotton soft tee shirt into strips and knit a hat out of that.If you keep the strips to under 1" it ought to be a pretty neat and comfy hat. Here's a tute on how to make tshirt yarn: http://www.repeatcrafterme.com/2014/03/how-to-make-t-shirt-yarn.html

And I was going to include a link to Cottontos, but it looks like it's been discontinued. :( That makes me sad. However, I will say that Bernat Handicrafter yarn feels kind of rough like sugar and cream before washing, but afterward it gets pretty soft. ANd you can sometimes get a really good deal on a giant skein at Joann's.

You should ask her if she has ever tried bamboo or a bamboo/cotton blend. It's very soft as well.

And I'm completely serious about sending you some skeins of cotton yarn if you want. Seriously. I have way more than I will ever need. I went a little crazy when I first learned how to knit and when I tried something and liked it I would be ALL THE SKEINS if there was a good sale, like 99 cents each or something. It's mostly sugar and cream.

I've only looked at Michael's, so I'll definitely check out A.C. Moore and Hobby Lobby (apparently, HL has its own brand in 100% cotton that's supposed to be quite soft). Thank you for the offer! I'm always willing to take yarn off other people's hands, but it's definitely not necessary; I've hardly tapped into all of my options yet :)
