The Kagome costume looks really great - your kids are lucky to have such a crafty Mom for making their costumes look so good. (And you're lucking to have kids that like dressing up :D)

It's so great that your daughter made that scarf for Gareth. Although, holy hot scarf+black shirt+cloak in July :D Wow, those pants really turned out great. When you first mentioned working on them, I didn't imagine them looking at all so good as they do.

Yes, the whole costume is going to be crazy hot for July. Fortunately, we'll be indoors, so hopefully he won't be dying from it!

Those pants = way better than I expected!

when you started talking about not finding the fabric you needed I thought "I bet she just made her own fabric). Hah! Great minds indeed. I did the same thing for Phebe's W.I.T.C.H. costume leggings... only the strips were horizontal and I used cotton jersey. But knitted scarf, yipes! Hopefully the ac will be full blast.

Kagome looks great, looks like you did knife pleats rather than box pleats. Your right, the fabric is holding them really well.

I asked Elena what kind of pleats she wanted, so knife pleats it was!

The con is in a different venue this year, a posh hotel, so I'm hopeful for good a/c!

I washed Phebe's outfit today, and except for the top of the pleats where they were sewn they all disappeared, so the next time she wears them I'll need to press them in again. I pulled it out of the dryer and said "wtf?". Then I remembered that the remnant I bought for them said it was "wrinkle-proof" fabric. I guess the pleats counted as wrinkles, lol.

The pants! They are fantastic! You seem astonished by your own ability to match stripes. They look perfect. :D

The skirt is really, really nice, too. The fabric is perfect! Wow!

I just sent you an email regarding the cape. :)

Matching stripes was a HUGE thing for my mom when she used to make clothes for us (she's expert level at garment making). I remember her talking about it like it was The Hardest Thing Ever. I've never even bothered to try before, so it did surprise me that they actually matched!
