Alright, Paixao, I think it's time we got a little more chitchat going. We've recently had quite a few newbies enter the city. I'm thinking a meme of some sort, those have a tendency of getting the ball rolling. Unless Matinal's would let us rent the place for a day to play Supermarket Sweep. Although, that could get a little messy...

How about ( Read more... )

I hope my interests don't sound too boring.

- My name is Jessica.
- I used to study Japanese poetry.
- I love outdoor walks.
- I'm 23 years old.
- I'm frightened of thunder.

[Needless to say, they are all lies - except the Japanese poetry bit but she thinks she can get away with that]

Not at all! I love the outdoors myself. The real outdoors, not the New York outdoors, if you know what I mean.

Japanese poetry? Oh, I'm a huge fan of Yosa Buson. Maybe you know of him? What am I saying? Obviously you would know of him. He is
one of the greatest haiga poets of the Edo Period!

Not quite dark yet
and the stars shining
above the withered fields.

It's a pleasure to meet you, Jessica. My name is Genie. I hadn't realized I forgot to introduce myself. Oops.

What are those other "games" you were commenting on?

[You're going to have to poke at her if you want her to reply to the meme...]

Oh, they wouldn't work nearly as well with everyone being from different worlds. Famous books and people in one world do not exist in others. It would be a bit harder to relate.

If you're curious though, Desert Island is a game that asks you what you would take with you if you were, well, stranded on a desert island. One book, one movie, stuff like that. Keeping in mind, of course, the book you choose you would have to read for the rest of your life.

Right. Sounds more like a time-waster than anything else.

I never looked at it that way. Gaining a new ally could be a waste... Except for that whole 'gain' part of it. That keeps getting in the way.

A "Five Facts About You meme"?

[New concept is new.]

Yep! Normally it's ten but I thought it might be better to narrow it down. I did put people on the spot.

Sounds sort of fun! Let's see --

o Well, start off with an easy one! My first name is really Gailardia, but just 'Guy' is good enough!
o I'm 184cm -- I think, according to this fon machine at least, that translates to 6' for some of you.
o Studying fon machines is one of my favourite hobbies, definitely.
o The majority of my life, I've been employed as a caregiver of sorts...
o And, um, well, I guess -- I don't use the popular Albert Style techniques like most people.

Almost like the flower, Gaillardia. The blanket flower. What a lovely name.

What, may I ask, are these "fon machines" you keep mentioning?

Big blue? I knew I had put on a little weight but gee, I really outta start hitting the gym again! You can't see me from here, can you?

Ooo, that's a different name. I like it!
Oh! Do we have other NIEA students in the city? Hm, not too sure about that acronym... NIA? NEA?
I gather the hair runs in the family?
I'm a little over 65,000 myself. Really.
That's fantastic. You don't run into too many interested in that sort of thing.

Thanks what's yours?
NIEA works!
Sorry, I don't tell family secrets unless I'm given prior permission!
You look really good for your age.
You can't be a badass demon delinquent if all you do is bad things all the time?

Genie, Genie of the Lamp. But you can just call me Genie. Don't try "GL" or "Jeans". My roommate in college ruined the names.
Ah haaaa.
Why thank you, dear. I'd tell you my secret but I'm above product placement or endorsing companies like Disney and any assets owned by them such as ESPN, ABC, Marvel Entertainment, Buena Vista Productions, Living Mobile, Club Penguin, HollywoodRecords.com, HBO Central Europe, and many others.
Fair enough.
