[A pause and then a soft exhale of realization. She doesn't need to open her mind to him to know that something's wrong.]
I wish it were so simple an answer to grant, but no. I do know him, in passing, but our relationship was through Vanyel .. whom I am certain you do not know?
I never got a notif! *SOBS*thequeensownAugust 18 2011, 19:17:06 UTC
[Well, this conversation has done a complete 180. Where Talia had been nearly ecstatic just a few moments ago, there was no denying the somber tone to her voice. Oh, she tries to keep it light, but she was thrilled momentarily to think this was the Remy she had gotten to know. Where Remy was, the likelihood of Vanyel arriving increased, if just in her mind.]
Ahh .. Well then I've no doubt that you have questions, or at least concerns as to the truth behind what you've been told?
[There had been a certain lack of planning and tact in Zeke's delivery. As soon as he'd found out this Remy was not the one they'd known he should have eased back. All the same, that was Zeke's and he was a kind man and hadn't meant ill by it.]
I will meet you there. You can't miss it if you head north of the barracks.. and my name is Talia.
[Then she's off and moving, none too far at all from her current location in the Hall. Sure enough, she gets there before Remy and then it's a waiting game. She'll be quietly perusing titles in sight of the library entrance.]
[Remy finds his way eventually from the barracks with help of the map. He cautiously enters the library, looking this way and that, just making sure he has a clear mental picture of the place. He sees her looking through the books and approaches.]
[Talia feels him at the edge of her shields as he approaches, but instead of locking down her empathy, she keeps it open. It would be better to do so in this situation, as it would likely be high in emotions. If it should prove necessary to call for help, she'd rather they be open and ready. She turns at his softly expressed question, her gaze open even as her stomach flips near violently. She had hoped hemmight look at least anlittle different, but he doesn't at all.]
Heyla, Rem .. [She remains where she is for a moment before gesturing to a pair of nearby chairs.]

[Talia smiles vaguely and moves to take one of the chairs at his gesture. Once seated, she folds her hands before herself, and replies calmly.]
You were a passenger on a ship called the MS Elegante. You were one of the first ones upon it, actually .. one of the longest remaining passengers besides the crew themselves. We had been brought to the ship because our worlds, and everything and one upon them, had been destroyed. We were told that we would be taken to the Golden Shore, a place that we could make into our new home and find safety from those that had taken our previous lives away.
[Man, that still hurt to think about, let alone say. No matter how she had come to terms with the loss, Talia still felt it keenly.]While there you served as a bar keep and made friends with .. well .. practically everyone that was there; crew and passengers alike. You respected those that had saved us and believed completely in their intent to save us and help us. It was there that you met and saved the life of Vanyel Askevron, a mage from my own

[Well that was certainly a lot to process and quite the story to make up. It matched with a few things Zeke said, but was presented far more calmly and tactfully. Also blind teleport? Oh wow, how did he figure that one out?]
I sound like quite the optimist.
[He looked away from her briefly as he considered having her show him. No, she hadn't earned his complete trust just yet. It could still be an illusion.
But wow he sounded close to this Vanyel person...that sounds nice. Married. Wow. Never thought that would happen.]
Remy??

Let me guess. You know Zeke. I do believe he's insane.

[Well now this was getting frustrating.]

[See? That's how you go about breaking this kind of news to someone. Not blurting out their secrets and offering them potentially poisoned pie.]

[She tried to respect that not everyone wanted their room numbers out for everyone to know.]

Would you prefer to sit?

I'm probably going to need to.
[Why was he doing this again? Oh right. He just had to be so damn curious.
He walks to the chair and politely motions for Talia to sit first.]
So....tell me about...um...myself.

What was Vanyel like? Just out of curiosity.
