To Whom it May Concern, which is all of you, I'm afraid,

I don't know if you've noticed or not, but we aren't exactly in control of our lives or fates here. From reactions I've seen to some of the Captain's recent posts, many of you were unaware of this fact even after having been here for a while. For the time being, we ARE, in fact, captive here. There's nothing we can do about it. Many of you refuse to believe that. The facts of the matter are this: Captain Redd is in charge. This is his ship, these are his rules. We do not own this ship, we do not and cannot control this ship. We cannot change the rules on basis of fairness, justified or not. We are not in charge. It is not within our power to do so.

Captain Redd has shown time and again that he and his crew are infinitely more powerful than the lot of us combined. The crew serve as Captain Redd's officers. Their job is to keep us safe and give us what we need. This does not mean we are to treat them poorly. The Captain has done bad things, but none of this has been unprovoked.

Killing will land you in the brig, accident or no. Fighting will earn you punishment if you land the first hit. Killing crew will get you brutally tortured. THIS IS HOW THINGS ARE. Is it entirely fair? No. Of course not. But these are the rules that have been laid forth. Crying over it will do nothing. Calling the Captain insane, sick or a monster will do nothing. You can turn your communicators off or you can choose better friends if someone receiving what they knew full well was coming to them offends you.

Of course people will fight. Enough people in an enclosed environment for a long period of time? That's what happens. But the killing, I honestly don't know what any of you expect to accomplish ESPECIALLY when your target is crew. People come back from the dead here more times than not. The instances of not are exceedingly rare. Killing someone only to have them come back accomplishes nothing except for a nice stay in the brig which I hear has become absolutely horrifying now.

Which does remind me, I have never been punished, sent to the brig nor even warned. I have killed many people in my life and I have managed to keep myself under control for the past two years. If I can do it, why can't you?

As of right now there is nothing we can do. We are stuck in something far greater than we can even fathom, I feel. So in the mean time, quit killing each other and stop biting the hand that feeds.

Signed,

Remy Whitecastle
