Kage? Where are you? I want to apologize again, and I have some questions. We all want to help ...

Kate, the crew have been quiet for a while.

[locked//50% hackable]

Kate, I don't know if you're going to believe me, but the crew are not behind this.

That is hard to believe, but that would be the point of a deception, no?

Let me guess ... our friendly new guests who know all sorts of the ships secrets?

[Having to willfully control her emotions was changing Kate; that and finding out that many clouds lacked silver linings had been quite the catalyst for change.]

Ah, so you heard my little calling out?

No, actually ... I just figured that if you did not think it was crew, that there was only one more option left. If it was a passenger, we would have heard Redd announce their punishment over the communicator ... like ... well ... you know.

Oh, it's fun to hear, I assure you. Annoying the daylights out of Asad is a fun game.

Still, it didn't work the way I wanted. Haven't found them. The moment we do, you're welcome to come along to get your revenge.

You know, before now, I never understood revenge ... and I do not think I should let myself feel that emotion in my present condition. But I will come along to help, if only for emotional support.

[Those words, "emotional support", meant far more when coming from the bard's lips.]

The horse-hands couldn't find them ... where are the places they haven't searched? It's too bad the crew didn't actually enlist our help ... wouldn't that have been far easier?

[She laughed lightly; the crew were quite odd.]

They say it accomplishes nothing, but it's seemed to work out well for me so far. It is, truly, a difficult emotion to deal with, so in your case I would not recommend it. Any help or support you offer is equally welcome.

[He knows what she means, and is thinking of ways for it to come of use.]

They could be in carnival. They could be on the move. They could be anywhere really.

How are we going to find them then? Normally I'd suggest splitting up, but I doubt that would be safe in this case ...

I could whip up a scrying spell, but that is not my element ...

I might be able to do something, but I'm very out of practice with things I don't normally use. I'm going back to studying like a child. I found a book. Maybe you can help.

I can ... the theory is probably different, but I am a fast learner ...

Let me know when. I'm in my room, keeping an eye on a friend's room too ...

Just make sure I'm the outcome's right. Push me until I get it right. That sort of thing.

If you're busy it's not a big deal.

Not at the moment ...

What is magic like on your world? There's two kinds on mine, one you need to be a conduit for, and one you just need to do the instructions right. The instruction one ... rituals ... are like cooking. Anyone can do it, but not anyone can do it well ... the other requires more.

Magic is born on your world ... so I would suspect it is a bit more difficult than making a pie ...

[No one told Kate that "easy as pie" was a saying.]

The moment you have to do something, you're free to go...

[He's totally listening in on her conversation with Midna.]

Ah, it's bloodline based yes. In theory it's simply manipulating the energy around you to make it do what you want. And if you don't know what you're doing, it's difficult. We're usually trained, books have been written, clearly as I have one here...I wasn't a studious child and my magic's always been a little weak. I'm killer when it comes to potions, though.

[He laughs a little at his joke.]

Wonder if that helped with my bartending.

[She blushed brightly; eavesdroppers totally expected everyone else to do the same.]

I ... well ... that doesn't seem too different ... and yes, drinks are a type of potion ...

[She giggled back.]

I'm on my way. I'll bring my ritual book too ... are you in your room?

[Kate knocks once before she opens the door. The redhead was wearing a luxurious dress, the one Zelda had given her. It wasn't safe enough to be looking through deck 12 for new clothes yet. She held her thick leather book over her chest, her arms wrapped tightly around it to keep it safe.]

Hey there Remy ... so you were spying in on me hu?

[She grinned as she came into his room, closed the door, and moved to sit at his desk.]
