I really need to listen to this more again. It's the weekend ... and normally we'd have new people here ... but we still don't. Have they not fixed the system or whatever ( Read more... )

Maybe it's compensation for the awful-ass batch of passengers we've had in the previous weeks. A dragon mauling people left and right, some other dude burning girls to death... yeah, I think I'm ready for a break from that.

Yeah ... that's why I've been sticking to my room again. I can't believe the captain lets some of those people ... and monsters ... in.

Ah. Y'see, I'm still fuzzy on all the different types of magic where you're from. You should educate me so that I don't goof up again.

OH ... that's a little tough ... so you know I know fire magic. Fire magic is obviously fire, heat, and light, but its also strength and emotions. Air magic is wind and the weather but also travel and the senses*. Earth's rock and soil and plants, but also durability and creation. Water's ... well water and cold and adaptability ... uh ... illusions* ... and healing.

There's also dark aspects to each one ...

[She then chuckles lightly.]

... We don't make lightning, at least as far as I'm aware of. That's still pretty much in nature's hands. Unless you're referring to electricity? In which case, it's a matter of currents and some other physics I never bothered to learn.

Yeah, electricity. See ... I only learned about magic because I have it ... and because I pretty much read everything in our library three times ...

Really? I never pegged you at the bookworm type, though, it's an admirable trait. You can learn all kinds of fun stuff from books... now that I have spare time on my hands I should pick one up again.

I should look around the library more. How does it work? Do they have stuff about everyone's world?
