Well ... it's friday, and that means there's a lot of new people.

[Guess who comes nosing around for food! It's Thom! But he's not a kid, like so many others... no, he's grown up instead!

You thought he was big and wolfish before, Kate? Now he's a good 180lbs. :|b He is also more comfortable on two feet than he used to be, but he's still used to all fours - and it's easier to smell food that way - so that's how he's walking~]

[And with her fork in her mouth, she flails about and falls back from her chair. Scrambling to her feet, she tosses an impotent ball of flame in his direction; poor little fire blew out from the air passing over it. Managing to not choke on her fork, she now brandished it like a weapon.]

Werewolves ... they're bad evil animals that spread a disease with their bites ... it makes humans turn into other werewolves ...

We ... those are the only dogs we have on my world. So ... you look like them kind of ...

[She took in a deep breath.]

No - Miss Kate I wouldn't EVER bite ANYONE - not even if they were hurting me -

[Very VERY bad things happen to pets who do THAT.]

Only if - maybe if someone REAL bad was hurting you, or-or Mikey -

[He wouldn't even defend another pet that way. Because pets got punished sometimes and it would be REAL bad to say that wasn't right. Only if someone he considered a Master or owner needed help.

And then he would probably instantly roll over on his back for the attacker.]

It would probably be good for you to bite to defend someone ... that's being honorable ... especially since you don't have a disease.

Nooo... I've been to the doctors at the clinic lots and had ALL my va... vaccinations.

[Wow, he's not used to being able to PRONOUNCE that.]

I'm REAL healthy. My owners take care of me... or they did.

[It's been a while since home. Maybe he needs another checkup. Maybe he's due for a vaccination!]

Do you think I should go see the doctor?

I don't know ... I've been here for almost a year and I don't think I've heard of anyone getting sick ... the ship probably keeps us disease free ...

And my boyfriend said the doctor is a scary machine ... but maybe he's overreacting ...

Healing magic I guess ...

[Kate didn't like science enough to have read about germs. No one had ever mentioned them to her.]

[She had definitely calmed down. She wasn't going to be hugging him any time soon, but she wasn't chucking fire anymore.]
