Tony Stark, I've heard you're the man to see for a project I've got going on.  If you wouldn't mind, I'd like the opportunity to meet and discuss it.

That said, I'm looking to also speak with a woman named Selina Kyle.  Apparently, we have a lot to catch up on.

Lady's told me that the flu virus that seems to be going around is more than likely a ( Read more... )

What sort of project do you have in mind?

Nothing unpleasant, I assure you, just a hobby of mine. Alfred told me you'd be able to provide the materials.

What is it that you're needing?

Pardon the security, but I like to keep my projects to myself.

A rough idea of the grocery list looks something like this: bi-weave kevlar plates, titanium dipped fiber, and a titanium-steel blend about a quarter inch thick. Unless you've ever heard of something calling memory cloth.

Understandable. And since you're not asking for anything that could be made into a weapon I don't mind coming through.

I haven't heard of memory cloth but if you tell me what it does and give me a couple of days I should have it for you.

Of course. I have no intentions of harming the citizens of the City.

It's essentially flexible in a normal state, but can become rigid when an electric current passes through.

Ah, I almost forgot; I'll also be needing black latex.

Well we're all glad to hear that.

I think I can manage something like that.

How much?

I'm Bruce Wayne, by the way.

Good to hear, I don't think I'd be able to manage quite as well without it. As for the latex, about three gallons in liquid form should do.

A pleasure, Mr. Wayne. As you apparently already know I'm Tony Stark. Or Iron Man, depending on which suit I have on.

Consider it done.

Iron Man... A superhero? Interesting. You're surprisingly forthcoming with that information.

I appreciate it. How much is it going to cost me?

I'm just an honest and forthcoming sort of person, I suppose.

5 indigo, although some sort of payment plan with a reasonable interest rate can be worked out.

The implication being that those who choose not to be so forthcoming are less honest?

Sounds reasonable.

Perhaps.

Excellent. I should have them for you by Friday.

That's a pretty judgmental stance. Not that I have an overwhelming knowledge of superheroes, I actually had girlfriends in high school, but as far as sociology goes, most would have a reason not to disclose their identities.

At which point we can also discuss a payment plan.

It's interesting to note that you instantly assumed that I was implying there was something wrong with not being completely honest.

Of course. I wouldn't expect you to pay for them until you inspected the items and made sure the quality was acceptable.

You'll have to forgive me. The crowd I usually surround myself with is the type that would only say something in order to imply the less-tactful corollary, so it's a habit I've picked up to automatically assume it to be their intention.
