While it's cool to see Kon looking a bit more like a teenager and less like he'll bust the seams on his clothes if he flexes, he doesn't feel right. I mean, he knew the world wasn't real, right? That's why he wasn't taking things seriously, right? (It's possible I may have misinterpreted this, because I read through the whole thing in a bit of a haze.) But even if Kon knew, without a doubt, that the woman in that burning building wasn't really in any danger at all, he still wouldn't stand there without flinching while she screamed for help. It would still bother him. It would make him uncomfortable, or he'd even get round to being pissy because he knows he's being manipulated and he'd understand that's an especially sick way to do it.
I don't know. It was an intriguing start, and I'm looking forward to how it crosses over with Teen Titans. But I still can't deal with seeing characters I love turning into brand new characters. I guess with Kon you could argue it's been happening for a while, but this kind of cemented that there's no plan to take Kon back to what he once was, which the reboot could have been a perfect opportunity to do.
