Sorry blog for staying silent for so long. So much happened in the 2.5 months since I've last updated. First and foremost, Audrey turned 3! We couldn't have a party but my parents came down and we had a socially distanced lunch of pizza and had cake the weekend before and then on the day after her birthday (Wednesday) we took the day off and had a daycation at the Hyatt Regency. On her actual birthday she celebrated with her classmates at school :)
I'm not sure if it has already been written on but we removed the crib rails at some point and transitioned her to a toddler bed! Also, sometime shortly before her 3rd birthday, we had our last nursing session. Welcome big kiddo!
October highlight was probably Halloween. We were Paw Patrol family this year. Audrey was Skye and I was Rubber and dad was Marshall. We didn't intend to go trick or treating but took a family walk where people started handing out candy to her so she got some :) We didn't hand out candy but set up a table out front with some bags of candy. Definitely lots of kids still out as all 28 bags I prepped were gone within an hour.
November brought finally colder temps. We have taken several trips together to the Wild Animal Park over the zoo as it seems to be less busy and distancing has been easier. We also ventured to the first play ground since the initial lock down in March. Audrey's skills in climbing and maneuvering on the equipment has taken huge leaps since March. Her climbing has gotten way more confident. As for Thanksgiving we opted not to see our family this year with Covid-19 hot as ever. Very sad but we are lucky to be able to feast at home together. We had turkey and ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and corn. For dessert Audrey and I baked a pumpkin cheesecake that turned out so delightful! I plan to bake this with her every year :)
We just entered December and it's full Christmas season. We set up our tree the weekend before Thanksgiving and Christmas lights as this year needs all the extra joy we can get. I sent out our holiday cards a day before December, way early.
Big news of this weekend is Audrey being sick. She didn't get sent home but woke up with a sore throat Friday and when I picked her up from preschool, she complained she was sneezing a lot. Fast forward to Saturday and she woke up with a runny nose, sneezing, definitely sick. Even though I don't think it is Covid-19 we had her tested today at the Kaiser Zion drive thru testing just to be safe and for preschool (to go back after she's sick she needs to be Covid negative and can return 72 hours post test).
