“BLOODY EFFING HELL!” Harry Potter was not pleased. “WHY IS THIS SO BLOODY DIFFICULT?!!!”

His wife, Dawn Potter (née Summers) was emptying the dishwasher. “Why is what so bloody difficult?” She turned to look at her husband as she reached for another glass.

“This bloody American Tax ‘thing’. In England, we don’t do this sort of thing!”

“In the Wizarding World, they don’t do that sort of thing. The muggles, however, they do.”

“Yeah, well, I've never paid taxes in bloody Muggle England.”

Dawn approached and looked over his shoulder. “Give it here. I’ll start it over and fix it.”

Veronica and Wallace were having lunch at their usual table when Mac approached.

Mac slipped a fifty over to the sleuth. “Can you do a background work-up on the new computer tech?”

“Miss Rosenberg?”

“Yeah.”

Wallace inquired, “What happened to Frenchy?”

Mac responded, “Oh, he got fired for giving out student passwords.”

Veronica asked, “Why do you want a background check?”

“I was working in the lab, and she was working on a computer that had a bad power supply. She got it running.”

“Okaaaay...”

“The power supply fried the mother board. I already looked at it before she got there. She said something in some language I’ve never heard before, and voila! The computer POSTed.”

“I’ll see what I can do,” Veronica told the blue-haired girl.

“Thanks.”

The computer guru got up and left.

“Wallace?”

“Get you Miss Rosenberg’s file?”

“You know me so well.”

“Okay, but it’s gonna cost you a butt-load of Snickerdoodles.”

Veronica’d come to the conclusion that Willow Rosenberg was a spook. She existed, but her records were squeaky clean.

That, and she’d gotten a visit from Lamb and a couple of FBI agents. They’d confiscated her research, and told her not to begin again.
