“I don’t mind at all, Marshal?” she asks, lifting a brow.
“Givens, Raylan Givens,” he says, tilting his hat at her, all smiles.
“Marshal Givens,” she adds, moving the corner of her shirt aside a moment so that the gold of her own badge flashes in the sunlight.
“So?” he asks again with a half shrug.
“Just passing through, checking on things,” she tells him, walking on by and into the Bennett store.

“Always said you were a clever one,” Mags grins and pours them both a shot.
“What can you tell me about the girl?”
“Loretta?” Mags takes a sip, “she’s a crafty one, when the spell hits her she’ll be better ‘en you.”

She grins as he turns her words over in his mind. He’s nowhere near any sort of truth she would give him.
“Not even as a small favour, one federal to another?” he drawls.
She wishes she was who she had been for moment, so she could take up the offer in his eyes.
