“-and then Jenny appeared and she was actually real!”
“Seriously?” she asks. At his nod she adds, “What do you think they’d say if I showed up?”
“I figure Beckett would look like she knew I was seeing someone all along. Ryan would decide that I picked you up ‘cause I’m jealous of him and Jenny. And Castle? He’d definitely try something.”
“Are you jealous?”
“What?! No!”
“’Cause, maybe it is time I dropped by, met your colleagues. You’ve met mine.”
“Yeah, and that went so well...”
“It did,” she grins, “once the shovel talk was out of the way...”

She’s spent half the day trying different outfits, finally settling on her red leather pants, black boots and a simple black vest. She leaves her hair loose, falling in waves down her back.
Looking in the mirror she forces herself to jump when Javier calls from the doorway.
“You don’t need to do that, I know now,” he says as he wraps his arms around her.
She nods; pulling away she takes his hand, “ready?”
“Only if you are,” he answers.
She laughs, “You know me, ready for anything.”
“Buffy, I’m serious.”
“I know,” she answers, she really is ready.

She shows her Council credentials to the first person who tries to stop her, after that no one else even tries.
She wanders towards Javier’s desk, smiling as she watches the four of them joking together.
She gasps as Castle looks up, she knew they looked alike, but it really was uncanny.
“Well, hello there,” he drawls, looking her over.
She rolls her eyes and relaxes in a moment - nothing alike.
“Sorry, you reminded me of someone.”
“Someone you liked?” he asks hopefully.
“Not so much, but he’s dead now.”
She laughs as his jaw drops at her flippant attitude.
She realises the other three are paying attention as she leans up against her man’s desk.
“Hey,” he says, grinning.
“Hey back.”
“Wait, you two know each other?” Ryan asks.
“Yup, and let me guess, you’re Ryan and that’s Beckett and I know who he is,” she nods at Castle.
“You’re the girlfriend?” Beckett asks.
“Buffy Summers,” she shakes hands with Beckett.
“Kate Beckett.”
“Wait a minute,” Ryan holds up his hands, “You’re telling me you knew Esposito had a girl... he what, picked up yesterday?”
Beckett rolls her eyes and looks to Buffy, “About a year, right?”
“Uh huh.”
