George swore as she realized she was too late. She had been trying to track down T. Maclay but when the gun had fired, she realized that she had needed to be upstairs. She had discovered in her short time as a Reaper that gun deaths could be rather traumatic.
“Willow? Sweetie, I’m right here. Please, don’t,” Tara’s voice floated down to her.
She picked her way through the house to where Tara was watching a redheaded girl loose control. She reached out and touched her arm and startled Tara. The blond followed her downstairs as the redhead screamed.
“I have to help Willow,” Tara begged.
“You can’t. I’m sorry but you need to come with me,” George replied. “I’m here to help you, not hurt you.”
“Yeah, right. That’s what they all say. Stay away from me. Willow, baby, I’m coming.”
The front door blew open in the wind that had suddenly appeared. The redhead marched forward, determined for revenge.
“She can’t hear me. Why can you hear me and she can’t?” Tara demanded.
“I’m a Reaper,” George admitted. “I’m here to make sure you end up where you are going. There’s no need to be afraid.”
“I’m not.”
