DAWN CLICKED OFF the last message she received from HunterSam, her online ‘boyfriend’ or something this past few months since she stumbled upon this chat site for supernatural believers.
She didn’t know what made things click between her and Sam (yes, that was his actual name), but the way he spoke of battling demons and vampires and the like reminded Dawn so much of her own background. She was the sister of the oldest living Slayer. She was there when Sunnydale was swallowed up.
Will her demon/monster fighting days ever end?
As long as there’s evil lurking about, I doubt our days of fighting or warding them off will be far from over. Those were Sam’s words to her, the first response she received after she posted the question on the famous forum they both frequented.
As soon as she read his response she instantly felt a connection with him. Sam knew what he was talking about. He sounded like he spoke from experience, and upon further investigation, she found out that his handle name indeed reflected what he does for a living.
Smiling, Dawn gazed at the printed sheet. She was glad she met a kindred spirit like Sam…
