Buffy sat perched on the edge of her new plush dark mocha sectional with a lounger as she stared at the ruin that was her family room, sun-light streamed in from the window. The mess trailed throughout the house, even the large backyard had boxes scattered by the pool. Gods, she had her own pool.

Faith was pissed that Buffy got to move to the City of Sin and had promised, though it sounded more like a threat, to come visit often. She was looking forward to it especially because she was living alone, since the big showdown with The First the two original slayers had gotten closer and come to an understanding.

Standing Buffy walked into the kitchen while making a mental list of things to take care of before she went patrolling that evening. Wood was supposed to have talked with the Principle at the nearest high school about her getting a job as a counselor. She enjoyed working at Sunnydale that finale year, plus this way she could keep in contact with the newly called Slayers.

Cruelly vicious had been the theme since leaving Sunnydale and Buffy couldn’t help but see this move as a fresh start.

If felt weird being in a new city again, various neon lights on the strip glowed brightly at night reminding all that it was the central hub of Vegas.

Her high stiletto boots ‘clicked’ against the crowded sidewalk as she wandered down Fremont Street, her heightened hearing picked up various conversations from those around her. What club next? Oh my! Did you see how hung that Chippendale dancer was? She’ll kill me if she finds out. Rolling her eyes she picked up her pace.

Patrolling in Vegas would be a new challenge, vampires wouldn’t stick to the cemeteries, not with this many happy meals on legs.

The familiar tingle hit her spine as she passed a groping couple that reeked of whiskey; stretching her senses she pick up the lingering scent of evil, a tight smile formed on her lips as she quickly turned to follow. To those glancing her way she appeared casual as she took in the sights but The Slayer inside was stalking the vampire, following its trail.

Buffy glanced behind her as the pair stumbled into a dark corner before following a few moments after. “What, not enough rent by the hour motels for you two?”
