The kingdom of Johnny's has a bit of a demon problem. a demon overlord has been unrepentantly wrecking havoc all over the eastern corner of the kingdom, and one brave soldier has been chosen to be a hero in defeating the feared demon overlord.

the only problem, that man was Akanishi Jin, who not only didn't want to go on the brave quest for glory, he didn't even want to join the army. He wasn't even really all that good at fighting, but he had a very good if very weird luck. Sure, he's been drafted into the army, but through a series of very bizarre coincidences, he hasn't had to actually do much fighting, and when he did have to fight, there was always some sort of a freak accident that ended up with his opponents taking themselves out for him. Although, if he had to admit, that time his opponent accidentally turned himself into a frog when he was trying to cast a spell half way through the match was bizarre even for his standards

It wasn't like he could say that he wasn't the best, because technically, technically, it did say on the scoreboard that he was the best, and a refusal to do a quest, which was one of the most honored accolades in the kingdom and a refusal would be considered to be a betrayal to the kingdom, so, unfortunately, Jin has to go on the quest.

Also, unfortunately, the information that the kingdom has received isn't quite accurate. You see, The kingdom has been quite set in their old ways, and any important information is still conveyed through the old fashioned method of having different guards of each city yell the information to each other, making all of the major information in a long, high-risk game of telephone.

So, technically the threat isn't a demon overlord but a way too powerful Kokuma called Kame, who was teasing and playing around with people leaving people in the eastern township blue balled and broken-hearted left-right and center. One of the guards fell Vicium to the devilish Koakuma, and his scream of frustration got interpreted as a warning of a threat, leading to the current predicament.

Jin goes to confront the great demon overlord, readying himself for an epic duel, possibly dying in the process, and meets Kame, a sweet, adorable, gorgeous, and slightly mischievous Koakuma. When Jin tells Kame of what he was there for, Kame panics and tells him that most demon lords treat the demons under their jurisdiction very poorly, and while he hasn't seen any demon lords around, he would love to help in getting rid of the demon overlord so that he can live in peace.

needless to say, shenanigans happen.

For the concept, koakuma has two meanings. one is literally, a small devil, the other is a woman who plays around with men's hearts (which is the dictionary definition. although, the word colloquially, the word isn't gendered. For example lots of magazines called Kame and Nino Koakuma before and fans do it all the time) Why not combine both?
