HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Feb 14, 2010 22:59

Hope you all had a hap-hap-happy day~! <333

Today (after our pseudo-Kingdom-Hearts photoshoot, LOL~), I theatre-hopped for the first time O_o; Roy and I randomly decided to go see a movie, so naturally we had to choose between things starting RIGHT THAT MOMENT - because who wants to wait, and also because deciding that way was the only reason we ever saw Pineapple Express, which was freaking awesome even though there was no reason that it should have been.

Deciding that Valentine's Day looked like a loss, we had Percy Jackson and Edge of Darkness to choose from. Now, I haven't given Percy due process and seriously tried to read those books, but I'm sorry, it looks like drivel. >_>; So Roy and I made the decision the good old fashioned way - Rock, Paper, Scissors.

I won, and we bought tickets for Edge of Darkness (and a "Concession Saver", because the boy at the ticket counter challenged us to another round of Rock Paper Scissors and we lost). We went into the theatre, sat down and watched the trailers.

Our movie started at 2:20. At about 2:30, the final trailer came on - the first actual ad for Valentine's Day I'd seen. And it looked really cute!

So, since it started at 2:40, we went and watched that instead. ^_^;

Valentine's Day was, surprisingly, a pretty darn good movie. Rather more reminiscent of Love, Actually than I thought it would be, and totally NOT in a rip-off sort of way. It was really, really cute, with a lot of good stories and a lot of good acting. And while yes, Julia Roberts was only in it for six minutes, it was a damn GOOD six minutes, and because there were so many stories going on, nobody got THAT much screentime.

Overall - really, really cute slice-of-lifey love stories, ranging from elementary school to after 50+ years of marriage. A LOT of stories, or so it felt like, but handled and woven together well. A lot of surprisingly good performances - I usually don't care for Anne Hathaway, and SERIOUSLY not for Ashton Kutcher, but they were both absolutely fabulous<3

Sadly, I don't have a photopost written up -_-; Fail~ But I wanted to wish everybody a happy today, and a happy tomorrow<3 ^____^

holidays, movies, valentine's day
