I'm definitely lookin', Mr.Simple!
I rarely get inspiration, and when I do, it usually disappears really fast because my attention is required on other things (for instance, my portfolio). So last Friday, I grasped onto my inspiration, and finished a sketch in less than a day. :D
Anyways, my inspiration is currently fueled by Super Junior's latest album, [Mr.Simple]. It's very rare that such music can drive me to draw, but I ain't complaining. xD;; After seeing their complete album concept images, the music video, and the comeback performances, I could not sit still!! orz;; Not to mention, after having had a listen to the whole album, it fueled me further~ So instead of fangirling first, I've decided to show you guys my current WiP. I realize I don't post my art on here, which is probably the result of me separating myself from social networks too much, so here, have a look! ^^

"I rarely post my WiP's because I like to work on them until I'm 100% sure they're ready for the world. xD;; But this time, I'm too excited to keep this to myself. OTL;;;
After listening to Super Junior's [Mr.Simple] album, watching the MV, and watching them onstage, I was blessed (lol??) with a LOT of inspiration. And I didn't want to let it die out (like I usually do), so I finished this sketch in ONE day. That's a feat for me~ \o/ I intend to ink+CG this, because I like the concept a lot. ^^ This was taken by my phone camera~ (Yah, I'm /that/ excited lulz.)
I won't talk (..ramble?) too much for a WiP, other than the idea/concept is definitely inspired by Super Junior's album concept photos and MV images. *guilty* The songs in the album inspired me to draw my OC's in more different styles of fashion, but yet bring out their characters.. Kazu and Nobu definitely stand out here, in my biased opinion. xD!!!

S'yeah, that's it~ x3 I've been trying to be more experimental in the clothes I give my characters wear, and this picture is to my satisfaction. Although it's a borrowed concept, it makes me feel more comfortable drawing such fashion, and I'm having fun with it. It's not easy for someone like me who doesn't draw all the time. ^^;;;;
Now that I've done the art-showing-off part, I'm here to fangirl! \o/ So anyone who's really not interested may skip, but I'm allowed to fangirl-rant, right? RIGHT?? D8 *gets weird stares*
Because this piece of art is fueled by the [Mr.Simple] album, I want to point out the particular songs that really drove the imagery of my two characters. I don't always talk about my OC's, because I have this delusion that no one's interested. While that may be true, I think I'm allowed to just explore on my own anyways, since these characters have been with me since I was, what, 17?? ♥ They mean a lot to me~

So first off, I really didn't expect to have Super Junior inspire me, honestly. OTL;;; I REALLY WAS looking forward to the album, and the teaser images were exciting to anticipate, but I really didn't expect to draw something so fast, so soon.

This. Is. Something. Worth. Anticipating!!!! *flails like mad*;;;;;
I'm so happy they didn't use any of the teaser images' wardrobe, but instead used the colour concepts. The first thing I noticed (other than the pleasing visuals), were the sound effects used. The subtle sfx you might miss, like the swishing of the jackets, the stomping of the boots, and the clapping of the hands - even the shuffling of the feet - were included in the MV, and it enhanced the visuals. The choreography looks simple (haha) at first, but it really isn't - in terms of formations. o__o!! That being said, I'm happy with this result. [Sorry, Sorry] and [Miina (Bonamana)] blew me away, and this one did not fail expectations.

And OMG SUNGMIN, your intense look!!! /dies/ ♥

[Mr.Simple] is the title track, but the track that drove me insane because I wasn't holding a pencil and a sketchbook is actually the second track of the album:
Super Junior - Opera English subs + Romanization + Hangul
[Opera] is something that, on first listen, is as strong as [Mr.Simple], or even stronger. But once I saw the translation, I had the image of Kazu. He swings to his own show, so to speak. He's full of himself, he's dramatic, he's.. Unique. Why else would he have blue hair, and be the most notorious boy in school, right? xD;; The line that screamed out "Kazu" to me?
"My show, my show, opera
The opera that I made, the best opera in the world
It's so spectacular that everyone cries and makes a big deal
It's so famous that everyone goes crazy."
I totally saw Kazu there, standing on the rooftop, looking at his "audience" down below, and smirking at his own awesome-ness. Mmkay, boy, your show. xD
Also, Kazu is flashy in his fashion sense. Blue hair, accessories, loud colours... I always wondered how he'd mix and match. So [Mr.Simple]'s concept images helped me a lot here. The way the clothes were layered and how the colours were loud and yet looked together were exactly how Kazu would like his wardrobe to look like. ^^
So while Kazu has the loud colours and his own show, the "simple" and suited look fit Nobu more. Nobu's the epitome of "simple" thinking. He takes things easy, and is super laid-back. He likes music - he chillaxes to it, actually. xD;; That's why I let him wear the suit and used the MV's look for him instead. Honestly, I myself am excited at how the final picture will turn out, since I haven't CG-ed in a long time. So I really don't know how the colours will turn out, and what kind of background to apply yet. I'm trying not to think too hard~
I'd be flooding even my own journal if I commented on every song that I liked, but I'm gonna keep that until Super Show 4. I'm waiting, SuJu~! \o/~~~ Lolz. Overall, the album is a standard boyband pop, dance album, but they have grown so much and so well since 2009. Hard work always gets paid off~ In the meantime (while I wait for the repackaged album!), this album is worth the wait, so welcome back, SJ!! :D I'm definitely lookin' your way, Mr.Simple~
