Asmodeus/Raphael: 1sentence (delta set)

Just a little something this weekend...

Pairing: Asmodeus/Raphael
Prompt Set: Delta

#01 - Air. A vicious backhand sends Raphael sprawling against a wall, gasping for breath.

#02 - Apples. Smiling lasciviously, Asmodeus offered the delicious looking fruit to Raphael, but the angel remembered Eve and the rumors surrounding Asmodeus, and the healer politely declined.

#03 - Beginning. Asmodeus says it all began two and a half thousand years ago in the barren lands of northern Egypt, but Raphael disagrees and claims the whole thing started almost two and a half thousand years after Egypt when Asmodeus first showed mercy to his angelic counterpart; Raphael often wins this argument.

#04 - Bugs. That first time in Media Raphael had been expecting maggots crawling, scales gleaming, some kind of monstrosity-not this elegant Shadow Master.

#05 - Coffee. Life on Earth is far from easy, but Asmodeus recommends that Raphael should have an Irish coffee for breakfast on those 'tough' mornings.

#06 - Dark. The first time it happened, Raphael nearly choked on his tea, but for almost an hour, the archangel found himself unable to dispel the Dis shadows that seemed to have gathered benignly at his feet.

#07 - Despair. Flabbergasted, Asmodeus proved unable to remove the shadows from where they cuddled around Raphael's ankles, and the healer half-heartedly despaired of ever getting rid of his new "friends."

#08 - Doors. Raphael had a minor conniption when the shadows began opening doors for him.

#09 - Drink. Raphael sits and sips his tea, trying to pretend that he doesn't notice Asmodeus's thigh brushing against his own.

#10 - Duty. Lucifer glared at Asmodeus, saying, "While I don't care if you like to spend your free time chasing after angels, kindly remember that your duty is first and foremost to Hell."

#11 - Earth. Earth is not a middle ground; it's a no man's land trapped between two fiery trenches.

#12 - End. Someone has to win, and someone has to lose, and to Asmodeus either his victory or Raphael's seems like an equally dismal notion.

#13 - Fall. Raphael's mind is insidious sometimes, whispering, But you could be with Asmodeus again if you just Fall.

#14 - Fire. Asmodeus slides warm hands so slowly along Raphael's bare chest, and the angel feels like the blood in his veins has been replaced by fire.

#15 - Flexible. Raphael gracefully swoops in such a sharp dive that Asmodeus tears a muscle in his own wing trying to follow and catch the healer.

#16 - Flying. In the air, there is an even playing field since Asmodeus's shadows can only manifest on the ground.

#17 - Food. Raphael refuses any food or luxury that Asmodeus offers, still hoping that someone will free him.

#18 - Foot. The shadows latch onto Raphael's ankle like a living manacle, and the angel falls to his knees just as Asmodeus reaches him.

#19 - Grave. "Since the first time you gave in to me, Raphael, your halo has had one foot in the metaphorical grave."

#20 - Green. Asmodeus is surprisingly uncomfortable the first time he looks into demonically yellow eyes that used to be spring green.

#21 - Head. Raphael cradles Asmodeus's head in his lap, gloved fingers caressing the demon's hair.

#22 - Hollow. Asmodeus deftly stripped the white linen shirt away, his fingers lingering gently at the hollow of Raphael's throat.

#23 - Honor. Asmodeus is on his knees, choking on his own blood, but Raphael can't bring himself to deliver the final blow when his opponent is so woefully defenseless.

#24 - Hope. Despite all evidence to the contrary, Raphael still hopes that someday Asmodeus and the other Fallen may repent.

#25 - Light. The light was always wonderful of course, but Raphael found he was beginning to enjoy the comforting weight of darkness as well.

#26 - Lost. Raphael gingerly touches the two long scars running down his wingless back and silently mourns for what he's lost.

#27 - Metal. The holy blade spun in a devastating arc toward Asmodeus's chest, but at the last second, Raphael pulled it back.

#28 - New. This new Asmodeus is horrible, and Raphael would give anything to have his angel friend back again.

#29 - Old. It was an old, old dance that they had shared for over two thousand years.

#30 - Peace. Even now that he's dead, Asmodeus will never leave Raphael in peace; the gentle healer will always be haunted by the face of the brother that he could not save.

#31 - Poison. The lust Asmodeus makes him feel is like a poison in Raphael's blood that he can't cure.

#32 - Pretty. Raphael's lips are red with blood, bruises flower all over his body, and Asmodeus smiles at his handiwork.

#33 - Rain. They're both already soaked, but Asmodeus spreads his leathery black wings anyway, a more than adequate shield against the rest of the downpour.

#34 - Regret. One day Asmodeus realized that if he was still an angel, there would not be such a deep and insurmountable chasm of bitterness between himself and Raphael; it's the first and only time that the Marquis ever regrets the Fall.

#35 - Roses. In modern day France, Asmodeus gives Raphael another white rose, but this time there are no hidden thorns.

#36 - Secret. Asmodeus leans over the sleeping Raphael and places a secret kiss on his parted lips, but then the angel comes awake and kisses the demon back, and thankfully it's not a secret anymore.

#37 - Snakes. Even with the scales, Raphael thinks snakes are rather cute once you get to know them.

#38 - Snow. Raphael set his hat atop Asmodeus's head so that the snow wouldn't land on the demon's face anymore.

#39 - Solid. Asmodeus's presence is solid, and his hands are supportive as he leads Raphael in a slow waltz.

#40 - Spring. Like springtime, Raphael breathes new life into Asmodeus's spirit.

#41 - Stable. Asmodeus knows his knees would buckle if Raphael wasn't holding him upright; "Don't worry-I'll heal you," the angel reassures.

#42 - Strange. "You're a strange angel," Asmodeus tells Raphael thoughtfully, "for wanting to spend time with a demon."

#43 - Summer. "You're just like summer: hot," Asmodeus says with a smirk, and Raphael slaps his arm.

#44 - Taboo. "I'll become your lover, Asmodeus...if you marry me first."

#45 - Ugly. Asmodeus has done more obscene, horrible, and cruel things than he can even remember, let alone count, but Raphael still swears that he can see a spark of good in the demon.

#46 - War. The war between Heaven and Hell has been going on for so long that Raphael wonders if anyone is even supposed to win.

#47 - Water. Raphael offered Asmodeus a glass of water, but the demon did not drink it; who knew if Raphael's mere touch may have accidentally blessed the liquid?

#48 - Welcome. "You could be forgiven," Raphael murmurs gently, "if you only asked."

#49 - Winter. For all his lust and passion, Asmodeus's heart is cold until Raphael's tenderness finally starts to thaw it.

#50 - Wood. Raphael meditates in some old growth forest; the angel wants to be calm and composed when he has to meet with Asmodeus in the afternoon.

I think I'm going to try to post something every weekend (art, writing...something). One of my New Year's Resolutions is to write/draw more, and honestly I'm not too busy that I can't create at least a sketch or a couple drabbles a week. ;3
