Not a fic.

Sooo...I haven't written much Asmodeus/Raphael lately.

Cut for very loooong rambling about the woes of characterization. )

pairing: asmodeus/raphael, biblical fiction

Good luck with that, m'love. I know how it can be when you're hit with character epiphany. Sometimes it's fun, but the other half of the time it's a dashed nuisance.

Can't wait to see the Berlin pics!!!

Good grief, it is such a dashed nuisance! Usually I have issues with plot structure, but this is the first major characterization problem I've encountered. *sigh*

You'll like the old ones I bought at a flea market. Wheelbarrow!Nazis, FTW?! XD

I'm sure you'll get through it fine. I, however, just want to put in my vote that you keep Asmodeus the same, and though he and Raphael won't end up together, you can have a lot of juicy awful things happen. I'm just twisted that way.

Dude, seriously?? That is definitely a FTW sort of thing. :-)

Thanks, luv.

Yes, you are, but so am I. I did write him after all, haha. However, I will probably end up altering Asmodeus's character again, but he'll still be more evil then the original version.

That said, I have no intention of letting Asmodeus's evil characterization disappear into the abyss of my hard drive. In fact, I plan to continue writing AU's that span the whole character spectrum. I'd even really like to write a radical AU where Asmodeus is a nice demon and Raphael's an arrogant snob of an angel. Just for shits and giggles. XD

I am completely serious. The pic is a bit blurry, but it's clearly WWII German military horsing around with a wheelbarrow.

Aw! That really bites when you realise something like that, but I certainly understand what you mean about Raphael never being with a completely evil Asmodeus. I kind of like option c, but that's because I really like the idea of Asmodeus and Raphael together. ;)

*bounces* Can't wait for the Berlin pics!

Yeah... This issue has squicked me prior to this year, but back then I was planning to ignore it and continue with the plotline as is. However, now I just flat-out don't want to write A/R like this. I could never give up on this pairing though. Bible fic is my longest running fandom/first original writing, and I love Asmodeus/Raphael. XD

What brought me to write this post is that I'm trying to finish two A/R short comics that I'd like to print up and take with me to the thing in Portland, OR. (Hopefully I'll be able to sell or trade a few copies.) Looking over the comics/scripts got me puzzling about how the hell I should write Asmodeus. >__<

Surprisingly, typing this post out really helped--very cathartic. After sleeping on it, I do indeed think I will be going with option c), and my muses are already thinking up ways to plug the plotholes I've got to fix. I will miss(?) complete-monster!Asmodeus, but he shall live on in unfinished scraps of story as well as the occasional AU-fic.

I can certainly understand that. *hugs*

Hee! Comics! Yayness! I'd love to see them if you get them done in time!

Hooray! Good luck with that and I hope this means we'll see more A/R from you.

My plan is to have four zines and four comics done (we'll see if I actually succeed, haha), two of those comics are Asmodeus/Raphael. They're already scripted and partially drawn so there's a high likelihood that the two A/R ones will be completed.

Yup! And whatever I finish, you and Stephie can have a freebie copy of any zines and/or comics that strike yer fancy. :D

Awww I totally understand that. I do some cruel things to Raphael in my fiction (in three 'verses he only has one wing via being ripped off Q.Q... I will never eat another chicken wing as long as I live!) Sometimes you just have to let it simmer in your mind for a bit and then one day you'll know just what to do! :3 You're a writer and an amazing one at that, I have no doubt you'll be able to weave your ideas together into something truly unique and amazing!

Oh the AU land are fair game for all sorts of characterization. Evil Asmodeus will be hanging out there, and I've also been toying around with writing a little asshole!Raphael.

As for this dilemma I posted about, I have decided to make Asmodeus less of a psycho for the sake of my plotline.

Thank you! Heh, I'm okay. Although... XD
