I'll hold you to that SMAP karaoke promise! <3 I'm sort of still at the level of dl-ing SMAP shows but never getting around to watching them. although I think that one of the things that pushed SMAP back for me, additionally to the breakup, is the lack of fandom? in the good old days when there were more of us around, you always had someone posting about something they found squee-worthy, which sort of compelled you to check it out if you hadn't seen it/join in with the squeeing if you had. and I hate how whiny and old this makes me sound. but I'm still not ready to let go of this fandom! XD
I got to write Tsuyoshi in an apron so I have no regrets there
now... is that a thing? 'cause I seem to remember more apron'ed Tsuyoshis from you. there was definitely one in Take five au fic, and I think an apron made a rather dirty appearance in the porn star au? just pointing out this curious abundance of aprons. :D
I hope your graduation delay is not a majorly bad thing and that you write plenty of fic spend all this extra time doing enjoyable things. :) I'm an unreliable disaster of a person, but I'll be hanging around here one way or another.

show-wise, Goro Deluxe and Momm are always pretty interesting! also, the Miyavi-Kimura interview a while back was pretty adorable, in an intense sort of way XD

ahaha, it does seem to be a thing for me, now that you mention it :3 but he's just adorable in aprons, I mean, look!
he even worked at a flower shop in that first one, and I swear it was a complete coincidence XD
re: graduation delay, not as bad a thing as I thought? it's given me time to build up experience and connections as a translator, and it's even looking like I'll be able to get a visa to stay here and work *keeps fingers crossed* I still have to finish the darn dissertation, though :P

frankly, I understand maybe half or less of spoken Japanese, so talk-based shows tend to be hard to follow - but I do keep promising myself to check out Goro deluxe 'cause the few eps I've seen were super fun and I love Goro-chan hosting. I don't know what the hell is going on with Goro's facial hair though and if that's for a role or a misguided personal choice.
the Kimu-Miyavi thing! I watched it! I have so many feelings! it's almost surreal for me personally, 'cause Miyavi was literally the first Japanese artist I was crazy about over 10 years ago. I remember his old old songs from the beginning of his solo career and what a hot mess he was back then. I am so proud of him that he made it mainstream and successful and also I really respect him 'cause I've seen him live and he slays. just him and a drummer on a tiny stage and I consider it one of the best shows I've seen, like, that guy has incredible energy. so, seeing him and Takuya together - and fuck, they are so adorable in that talk, but I also get the feeling that they really respect each other as artists - my mind is absolutely blown.
I admit, Tsuyoshi in an apron is an image that makes perfect sense. 8D
great to hear that about your work! and keeping fingers crossed for you visa. and for your dissertation! I gave up on my Master's degree with one fourth of my thesis written and I don't think I'll be coming back to it at any point in the future, but I get the frustration of this kind of work. >.>'

ah, yes, Goro's facial hair. I don't think it's for a role at this point, so I guess it's his way of expressing his manly side or something. you kind of get used to it after a while? XD
actually, I'm going to go see Miyavi here! between that talk and the songs he did for SMAP and Mugen no Juunin, my curiosity got sparked :D plus, although I can't imagine Kimura actually going solo anytime soon, if he was going to I would totally be down with Miyavi producing him :3
thank you! I just met with my advisor and it might not even be a fall graduation, but I guess it doesn't really matter if I get that visa anyway? frustration indeed XP
