when matsujun tells you to eat more you are in trouble

Kabuto movie:  It, uh, teetered on a fine line toward incoherency, but sort of made sense at the end if what I think happened is right.  I was expecting the movie to be completely AU, so that kinda caught me off guard.  Made fairly early on during the series, so there's a few things that don't quite mesh, but it does serve as an interesting... prequel?  I am amused that the movie is all about Kagami/Hiyori (which made me go all squishy because Kagami is adorable), while the series is like, let's just have lots of gay subtext!

Nothing says badass like a knitted cowboy hat.

Also, cameo by owarai duo Jicho Kacho = awesome XD

Himitsu no Arashi-chan:  Zzz.  The first half was Nino and Aiba being child minders, which is a situation that should totally be full of win, but the kid pretty much cried the entire time.  I don't think there's a whole lot you can do with an 8-month-old, so it was less adorable and more guys, that's just going make him cry more-- oh look, you made somebody else's baby cry, too >_<

(I am a little bothered by the fact that they are choosing to babysit celebrity children, rather than the ordinary families they had in Mago Mago Arashi.  That was part of what was so awesome about MMA, it was Arashi dealing with average people rather than limiting their interactions to the celebrity world.)

The second half was a calorie guessing game-- the team who chooses the dish with the highest calories loses and has to eat an extra-high-calorie version of it.  This was downright annoying, because it's unhealthily-skinny Arashi versus some celebrities who are maybe slightly overweight, and it falls back on the unfortunate variety show standard of obsessing over weight.  I realize the boys are busy and probably don't have as much creative control here as they did in D and G no Arashi, but this is kinda sad.

(how does Ohno weight 40kg, that is 88lbs)

(don't say that like you're proud of it, Nino, get your plasma-tv boyfriend some food)

On the plus side, it looks like the Himitsu staff have realized that Arashi are at their most interesting when they're together.  Some of their shows have taken rather longer to figure that out.

i'm not going to watch den-o, himitsu no arashi-chan, kabuto
