Haruhi is quite a cute girl and this is often noted by other people, but she remains quite oblivious. However, she is as curvy as her canon self, and is practically flat and is straight as a stick. This was intentionally done so she could play down her age if needed on a mission.
She tends to like to wear loose and baggy clothing and hates wearing pants. She likes wearing overlarge shirts and hoodies the most and wandering around barefoot. But if she is forced to, she can dress herself nicely. She also always wears a yellow headband with ribbons, while it appears to be just a hairpiece, it is actually a device that increases the link between herself and Kyon, the headband form is simply to keep it inconspicuous.
Personality: Haruhi’s personality, despite her age, is usually that of a cheerful little child. Despite living in a lab her whole life, she’s never faced too many hardships, so her outlook is generally very positive. She’s not afraid to talk to people, even if they’re complete strangers, and loves telling them about things she’s seen or done. She also likes trying to get people to play all sorts of strange games that she makes up. And she tends to attach herself to people who show her kindness or regard her warmly because she’s never truly experienced that. She perceives love to be getting what she wants and getting material things, but despite this, she finds herself attracted to kind relationships with other people, even if she doesn’t know why.
She also lacks tact or a filter on what she says. You’ll know what she’s thinking because she’ll tell it to you straight. Especially if you upset her, she’ll let you know exactly how much she is annoyed at you. In that respect, what upsets Haruhi is usually not getting her way or being denied something she wants. She can turn from happy to grumpy in a split second and start snapping or being cold to the person who upset her, even if she likes them. If it gets extreme, she’ll even tantrum like a small child because she doesn’t know how to properly express why she’s angry or upset. And then just as quickly, if the situation changes, she can go back to being happy and bubbly.
Also being an experiment, she has no idea about social norms or things like that. She does what she wants even if that’s not what society dictates. But this being cut off from the normal world has made her very curious about all the things in it and she loves to explore and find out how things work. In a similar vein, she’s very nonchalant about the subject of death, seeing as her reason for creation was to kill, and isn’t disturbed by the idea. But this is probably because she has no idea what it means or how it feels to lose someone. To her, death just means this person who is bad goes away. So the idea of people being sad over death is very confusing to her and she doesn’t see why her being created to kill is a negative thing.
Finally, hidden deep within her, is a berserker mode personality that overrides anything and everything else about Haruhi’s personality. In this mode Haruhi is an emotionless, cold-blooded killer, precise in all her actions. However, this was deemed too dangerous and was locked deep away within her mind, and is only accessible if Kyon deems it necessary, if she gets extremely angry, or someone breaks into her mental connection.

Many children were abandoned on the street because their parents could no longer afford to keep them. That was how Haruhi found herself on the street.
She was only five years old but she was picked up by one of the many gangs of abandoned children on the street. The children banned together to try and find food and keep each other from getting picked up by the government. The rumor on the street said that the government ground up kids the found on the street into food that people got in soup kitchens. Haruhi was very valued in her gang for her ability to read despite her young age. She was a very intelligent girl and could follow directions and think up plans than most children older than her.
A young boy named Kyon was designated to protect her within the gang. Haruhi often got frustrated when he would stop her from going out with the rest of the gang or take her away when things looked dangerous. One night she tried to escape from him and go with the rest of the gang to try and raid a store for food. She managed to meet up with the rest of the gang and helped them break into the store. Unfortunately, it ended up being a trap with government agents waiting for them. Haruhi found herself trapped in a corner, most of her companions captured or killed in the struggle. Then Kyon came and pulled her from the store, down a secret passage, sparing her life. She became must warmer towards him after that and started to consider him a friend.
They reunited with the remaining number of gang members and started wandering the streets once more, too small to effective and help. Haruhi found another street gang and used herself as leverage to convince them to let her group join. And for awhile things were like they were before, a group working together to survive. But unfortunately, their new gang was a lot more reckless and the government found them out. During the night, agents infiltrated the gang’s shelter and snatched away the kids, putting them in those horrifying black vans that the rumors talked about. Haruhi tried to escape with Kyon but they were caught too, she last saw Kyon being thrown into another van.
The government did not grind up the children into food, but instead, experimented on them; trying to create better medicines, better weapons, better soldiers. Haruhi had her mind wiped of all she experienced on the street except for her name. And for ten years she was experimented on, improving her physical abilities, teaching her how to fight and use weapons, and most importantly creating a semi-psychic network in her mind. She was to be the most powerful and effective soldier assassin that had been created yet, she was code named the GOD PROJECT.
One day, she was introduced to a young man, named Kyon. He was the same Kyon she had known ten years ago but his memories had also been wiped and it was like they were meeting again for the first time. It was explained to them that they were partners, psychically linked to create a perfect solider. Haruhi would fight, while Kyon sent tactical information to her and helped her keep out of harms way during fighting. Haruhi was very displeased with this and did her best to ignore Kyon, doing her work to get the rewards the scientists gave her when she did a good job.
However they became displeased with her refusal to corporate with Kyon and stopped with the material rewards that she loved so much, which only fueled her anger. One of the jobs she was assigned to was taking care of failed experiments that went berserk while in the lab. It was good practice for her fighting skills to take out these other experiments as well as getting rid of evidence for the scientists. But one day, Haruhi encountered berserkers that were much more advanced than the one’s she usually took out. They were very powerful, too powerful which is why they were being taken out, and Haruhi found herself almost defeated. They had broken nearly all of her weapons and injured her greatly. Then in an irony not known to either of them, Kyon once again came to her rescue with a quick tactic he sent her over the psychic link. She was able to kill the other experiments and once again be seen as a successful experiment.
She and Kyon once again became friends and accepted each other as partners. Haruhi realized that Kyon could be her personal playmate as well and during the time it took her to recover from her injuries, she had developed quite a liking for the boy. But their rekindled friendship was about to be cut short, the outside world had been improving in the 10 years Haruhi had spent being experimented on and now the world was starting to wonder about the whereabouts of the children who had disappeared off the street. And this secret sector of the government was in danger of being shut down. Kyon over heard of the scientists plan to destroy the complex and tried to convince Haruhi it was true, but she refused to believe it. She had liked the time she spent in the lab, no one had ever been cruel to her and she could not believe it. Just as they were arguing, the head scientist came into the room holding a gun, telling the two that they had to be erased from the records. Kyon told her to run and they ended up separated. Haruhi ended up hiding in a small closet and worn out from the stress of the situation, she passed out. And when she woke up she was on a strange beach...
Strengths: Haruhi was created to be a perfect assassin, so she has many skills that normal humans do not posses. She has much more physical strength than someone her size should have (her size is also an advantage as she was created to appear non-threatening) and can easily lift heavy objects or physically fight with those much bigger than her. She also can run faster, longer, and jump higher than any human should be able to. Her bones have been modified so they are much stronger than normal bones and do not break as easily.
Haruhi also has a very strong resolve, if she wants something, she’ll go to any lengths to get it. She is also very loyal to the people she deems to be worthy of her loyalty and would never betray them or give up on them in any situation to fault. In the same vein, she gets protective of these people and seeing them hurt or in pain are the only things that can actually make her angry.
Weaknesses: As said before, Haruhi tends to get attached to people her show her kindness and so making her very susceptible to manipulation, and once that loyalty part of her kicks in, it is very hard to convince her that a person is bad or evil. Her curiosity can also be a danger to her as it tends to get her in bad situations because she just doesn’t know when to stop if things seem bad.
Also despite, having strengthened bones, Haruhi is still very susceptible to wounds that pierce the skin as she has no protection from those. She also is vulnerable to diseases as she’s never been submitted to them except for those in vaccine form. The psychic link between her and Kyon can also be a danger as she feels great pain if there is interference over the link and if the link were ever to be broken, it could take her life.
