Last night confirmed my love for Rammstein. I'd been looking forward to the concert for months, weeks and it was everything I expected. The drive up to Manchester was a nightmare. It took us nearly two hours, what with road works, traffic jams and Manchester's horiffic road network itself. But finally we arrived :D We got into the MEN at about 7pm and headed straight to the merch. Annoyingly almost everything had sold out in every size, so we decided to wait until after the gig to get things.
Once actually onto the concert floor it was epic. The MEN is huge and I've never been to a concert that was so full. The standing section was almost full already and the seats half full (they went to full once the concert began.) We stood chatting over life in general; the weirdest conversations among our friends, boobs, y'know the normal things we chat about. It was then time for Combichrist. I thought they were actually pretty good, although they seemed to get a bit samey as they went on. It was at this point Chris began the casual push forward until we had an epic stance about 10-15 people back. The excitement was really starting to get to me. Finally on they came :)
My highlights of the concert (in no particular order):
1. Till's in mouth light
2. The fire around the stage for Keine Lust
3. FIREMASKS FOR THE WIN. And lol at Paul's refusing to go out >_<
4. Till on a podium with a bucket of sparkles :)
5. Flake reappearing in a silver sparkly suit
6. Exploding babies during Weisses Fleisch with Spiel Mit Mir stylee lasers
7. The band are manwhores. Great big sexy, German manwhores.
8. The random dude who "jumped" onstage and got set on fire. Was that for real?
9. Spurting dildo cannon.
10. In fact Pussy as a whole (LOL) was amazing. I loved their faces when they realised the crowd were singing along to the English lyrics. At a guess we were the first to do it.
11. Fruhling in Paris. So beautiful and Till's voice was perfect <3
12. Till. Seriously, talking to the crowd? stopfuckingwithmymind That never happens. EVER. And his singing was fabulous. Especially the end note on Fruhling.
13. Finding ticker tape in my shoes when I got home. Seriously, I found ticker tape in my shoes.
14. Schneider drum solo <3
15. Olli.
16. I TOUCHED THE MOTHERFUCKING RAMMSTEIN DINGY/BOAT. I touched it :D And was so close to hot Flake (He appears to have sprouted muscles. Smexual.)
17. Richard. Total manwhore.
18. I now own a Rammstein hoodie and the Germany poster. It will be going in the living room once I get blu-tack.
19. Getting complimented on my t-shirt. Also got stared at by two dudes, also referring to my t-shirt. Or more precisely, what was in it.
20. Engel wings. Should've been more flamey but still epic.
One downside: it ended :( No seriously one annoying point was this crazy lady. She was blatantly on something and kept grabbing us and groping us. Seriously, it was like she was a crazy Jesus lady on ecstasy. She kept looking up and putting her hands toward the sky. But who cares it was EPIC. I kinda wish they'd played more old stuff, but hell, it was amazing.
