Tsuna's history is rather uncomplicated and dull in the beginning. Hailed as the failure of his class, no excuse me, school, Tsuna led unmotivated and cowardly life. Even his mother had given up hope on him. But one faithful day, a baby who proclaims to be his home tutor shot him right between his brows with his pistol. And our story begins ...
Guess what folks? This No Good Tsuna turned out to be a descendant of a long line of mafia family called the Vongola and he had been appointed as the next boss, Vongola X. And the baby home tutor, otherwise and most commonly known as Reborn, teaches him the ways of the mafia. Very painfully might I add. However, the arrival of Reborn did not all result in bad news as he (or rather Rebonr) gathered candidates for his family. These candidates soon become valuable allies and most often times close friends.
Tsuna's real growth takes place when our infamous Rokudo Mukuro, decides to pay a visit to Japan to hunt down the Vongola boss, trying to use the young boss's body for destruction of mafia world. While Tsuna was very, very reluctant to participate, guilt of seeing his schoolmates injured and Reborn's rather persuasive persuasion lands him and his gang at Gokuyo land. There his gang (+ Hibari) fights against Mukuro and his minions. It was during this battle that Tsuna discovered Criticism Shot and Hyper Dying Will Mode. With all this new form, he was able to defeat Mukuro.
Next came along the Varia - the well-feared elite assignation group of Vongola. Long story short, Varia's boss - Xanxus - wanted to be next Vongola boss and decided to take Tsunayoshi's family down because they had a powerful symbol and weapon called the Vongola Rings (which were brought to Japan by our lovely Basil). During the Ring tournaments Tsuna went through another growth of courage and determination, partially affected when he attacked Vongola Ninth without realizing who it was. However, ultimately Tsuna defeated Xanxus in the Sky round and gained the honorary title of Vongola Xth. Much to Tsuna's refusal.
The party time is cut short when Reborn was shot to the future by Lamboo's Ten-Year Bazooka and disappeared completely - later on Tsuna too was sent to the future by a mysterious figure. He wakes up in his own coffin (freaky) and one-by-one, his family is also sent to this future. There, Vongola was hunted down by a rival mafia family called Millefiore - and TYL!Tsuna was presumed dead.
To change the future, Tsuna is now training with TYL!Hibari and this corners him to death - which in turn forces Tsuna to face Vongola succession where he sees all the dirty sides of the mafia world, Tsuna boldly exclaim that he doesn't need this kind of power and that he'll "wipe out the Vongola." And volia! Tsuna is acknowledged by the past bosses. With their consent to his succession, Tsuna receives X-Gloves Ver.V.R. (Vongola Ring). Then Tsuna
