A revalation in the order of society.

So, I haven't posted in a while. Update time. Go.

I finished my course in Remedial Massage Therapy, diploma get. fantastic.
Plans in motion to get to canada, money pending along with time. Goodo!
Job hunting proves that there is no one hiring. Well, shit.
I'll start up my own business in my trade! Hang on a minute.
Before I can do that, I need to find somewhere to practice.
Home, easy enough, no rent, no rates, easy advertising around the community, sound, secure.
Before I can start that though, register as a business, get council approval of the site, get insurance, get association membership (which requires me to get written copies of character references from people who have -nothing- to do with me as a qualified therapist. More on this later), get the furniture, the equipment, the everything else, then hope that someone, somewhere, wants my services.

How have we gotten this far as a society when it's so wretchedly hard and worm-holey to want to do something for the people living around you? Seriously, What bastard creature crawled up everyone's arse to make it so impossible to be viable in what you do?

'Why hello there! I'm a trained remedial massage therapist and I would like to offer my services to you to improve your way of life!'
"No no no. Not for me, you're clearly likely to puncture my lung, steal my kidneys and rape me before asking for money! None of that for me, thanks! I know your kind."

Seems to be the way the universe works when I need a statutory declaration stating I've never had criminal offences against anybody, and require those character references, from people who cannot be; 'relatives, staff of my graduating college, members of an association board, or a divisional committee'. So basically, They want a written letter, from someone, without an ounce of knowledge of my person, stating that I am a trust-worthy person who is able to provide the services that I can in a safe and orderly manner. ...Am I sensing some odd state of irony here?

I question the statistics that say 95% of starting business fail in the first year, and 80% of the following amount fail in the second. With these kinds of requirements, how does ANYONE, start up a business at ALL?! For christ's sake!

Despite all this, I'm still gunna follow the carrot-on-a-stick, because I. Want. To. Get. To. Fucking. Canada. *Determined SNARL.*
