Comics Class and Drawing

Tomorrow for Saturday School we are going to have a mini critique of their character designs. I just hope everyone will talk. I think I might employ Lenore's crit method and that is select someone to chose a work they like and to start the discussion. Then the person who was chosen can chose a work that strikes them, and we can daisy chain around like that. I don't know if many of these kids have had critiques in their high school art classes, but I'm presuming they haven't except perhaps for the student in the arts magnet. I'll have to be prepared for that, heh....

I'll also be giving my lecture on scripting & thumbnailing, and I'm hoping that we can have a decent discussion about paneling, but this group is quiet, so it may just be me doing all of the talking. I really hope it won't be me doing all the talking. XP

Lately between classwork and preparing for Saturday School, I haven't had much time for myself, and generally when I do have some free time I just like to nap or catch up on things. Though today I actually did some drawing for myself and I started one of the illustrations for the first chapter of Design of the Heart. I did not predict that my drawing class this semester was going to be so intensive. So far we have homework every weekend. Painting class wasn't like that, we had homework every now and then, but not every weekend. As it stands I only have one study done for Tuesday and I'm sure I need more. Really though I don't even consider my first study finished. Since these are just studies of non-representational space, and he doesn't mind comic art for this, I may just wind up doing a study where I pile a bunch of characters on top of themselves and overlap/interface them.

Well, I best get my butt in bed so I'm not dead tomorrow.
