Computers! Why they hate me? This is your TL;DR warning.

Although my NaNo is not fairing so well, seeing as I'm 15,000 words behind to the finish. 8| I CAN DO IT ALL IN TWO DAYS, JUST YOU WATCH ME.
So Menchi got me a new video card for my birthday (Gigabyte HD 6850, supports up to three monitors, oh yeeeah~) and after I got sick of all the bluescreens my computer's been giving me lately, we decided to finally crack open the case and replace the card... only to realize that my power supple wouldn't support the card, seeing as it only went up to 300v when the video card needed 400v min. to function! So that meant a quick trip to get a new power supply (now 600v) and then spending the rest of the day cursing because we couldn't get the old power supply out.
...Okay, maybe that was just me. Cursing can be productive! Especially seeing as I did indeed manage to get the power supply out eventually. 8) And while we were at that, I figured I'd shove in my old harddrive, too, from the computer that crashed this spring. (I have terrible luck with computers, don't I?) Thus, my computer is now 1.5TB when it comes to harddrive space.
Alas, my bluescreens did not stop, but have instead gotten more creative. I'm not lying-- once, it purple screened on me. Menchi thinks it is the motherboard now, as he tested the ram and my new harddrive.
Guys, I do not want to replace a motherboard. Replacing a power supply was irritating enough, and I know where all those cables go easily enough. Motherboards hate me, and with my luck, I'd scratch something terribly important before I get everything shoved back into my computer case again.
