Mm-mmmm, food~

Quote of the day!
Chris: Chances are, I'll be the only guy in the house. Or the only girl. It seems to go either way these days.

Been just a bit busy the past few days.

And I'm not sure if my diet is going well or not, haha. XD One one hand, I'm definitely not eating any less, but on the other hand, it's all been healthy stuff. Nothing deep-fried or junk foods, etc.

As of late, most of my meals tend to look something like this:

Vietnamese salad rolls, a bit of sushi, maybe some lemonade or soy milk... I've really grown a love for Vietnamese salad rolls. Like, super. XD I tend to want them all the time~ they're uber yummy.

And if I'm feeling ambitious, I go for dinner like this:

And before you're thinking that it's all eww, lots of sugar~ that is actually a Taiwanese icy. XD About 80% of it is just shredded ice, with lots of fruits and jellies on the top. The white is condensed milk, which is the only added sugar on it. :P

Anyway. XD

So, the Biweekly Otaku Lunches went to Richmond via the brand new Canada Line yesterday!

We had a fun time-- the trains are super smooth, I'm not sure if I mentioned. It's practically silent so you don't hear the screeching track noises at all. Also, no bounce-bounce, so even if you're not holding onto railings, you can still stand with ease on them. Either way, since we started from Waterfront, it wasn't hard to grab seats.

Richmond is the same as ever. XD No, wait, that's not entirely true. Now with the Canada Line operational, there seems to be a lot more people in Richmond-- I went in Daiso and the entire time we were there, I had to squeeze carefully around other people.

...And just because, look what I found at Aberdeen Centre! XD

And GUYS. Aberdeen. Has. DDR. Fourth. Mix. Fourth. It's AMAZING. I felt so nostalgic playing there, and it was fifty cents for a game! 8D Just like in my high school days! It was uber amazing and I played three games in a row and totally wasn't tired and would have played more if I had more change to spare. T_T Aw, but it just made my day to see that old machine sitting there all cozy and awesome like it is. All those songs that I actually know! ♥

As for todaaaaay~ XD

I left the house early as I could to make my way over to GPHQ, where I found that Jon's friends had left over so I holed myself up in the kitchen to make food rather than start on cosplay stuffs first thing in the morning. XD I've been meaning to try and make my own Vietnamese salad rolls, since I loved them so much and totally spend too much buying them rather than making them. XD

So, voila! First time I made them. :P

Don't they look beautiful? I ended up making bunches and taking them back to my uncle as well. XD They're super delicious, just like the ones bought at the store. We had so many flavours! There was the classic pork ear one, and then smoked salmon, tuna, and even chicken~ they were all absolutely delicious, really!

And later on, I started making onigiris. XD Good practice and all~

These, I was not very good at. oAo

So when Tara came over to find Sarah and me in the kitchen making this, we decided that since I couldn't really make onigiris look the pretty triangle shapes they were supposed to look like, then we'd make faces on them!

We saved them until Amanda came over. XD And then we each picked one to eat, but we'd have to make that same expression before we could eat it. XD

They were yummy as well. XD But not as yummy as the Vietnamese salad rolls, I think. We made fantastic sauces for it as well! We ended up spending a good portion of the day in the kitchen making food, haha. XD I mean, we were in the living room watching Doctor Who and playing Silent Hill 2 as well... amongst other things like internet and wheee, fabric. XD

But it was great fun to have everyone crowding around in the kitchen, actually.

I'd say GPHQ just has the most delicious foods!

I'm very sad that I didn't get any pictures of the dish that Chris made- it was exceptionally yummy as well! Fried egg tofu with bean sprouts covered in oyster sauce~ mmmm, it was delicious. Beyond delicious. I usually don't even like bean sprouts, haha.

To make up, here's a pic of Chris making salad rolls as well. XD I think everyone thought those to be mmmm yummy and super easy to make!

And with this post, I declare that GPHQ is the yummiest home around! ^___^-

And really, I think one of the best things in life is sharing good food with good friends. ♥

i quote because i love, life or something like it, shammy is a happy soldier, i love my friends, silent hill, doctor who, god_project, talk to me you spoons, *heart heart heart*, ddr is love
